Qualifications Education/Certification Master’s Degree Valid Texas Principal’s Certificate Special Knowledge/Skills Demonstrated leadership ability in working with other administrators, teachers, students, parents, and general public Excellent organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Knowledge of instructional administration Possess mediation and negotiation skills Sensitive to a multicultural community Experience Three years related campus-level experience Three years school operations experience Major Responsibilities and Duties 1. Assists in providing information on best practices for instructional resources and material to support campus administrative staff in accomplishing instructional goals. 2. Interacts positively and regularly as a central office representative to ensure standards of excellence throughout the District. 3. Assists schools in the campus improvement planning process. 4. Confers with the Assistant Superintendent on matters of concern and recommends action needed to meet campus needs. 5. Supports principals in the pursuit of student achievement. 6. Promotes and communicates Districtwide high expectations of students and staff performance. 7. Assists with maintaining a positive and safe environment to achieve District goals and objectives. 8. Projects a positive image of District program with students, staff, parents, and community. 9. Assists with identifying, analyzing, and applying research findings to ensure continuous improvement. 10. Assists with planning an overall improvement program. 11. Keeps informed on the latest research trends and development in all areas of education. 12. Promotes a school and organizational climate that results in positive staff morale and openness to the community. 13. Articulates the District mission to the community and solicits support to make the mission a reality. 14. Ensures systems and procedures are in place to provide for safe campuses. 15. Develops systems and procedures to monitor campus use of funds and ensure that funds are expended appropriately and within federal, state, and local guidelines.
