The key products used to create the look were label.m Volume Mousse to prep the hair from roots to ends, section by section. Once smooth-dried, a clean, precise part was down the middle then stitched in 30 inch real hair peices by Janet Collection, NY. The label.m Wax Stick was then used to help create a clean, but natural-looking waist length braids down each side. Each model graced with a classic bandana to compliment each look and bring a uniqueness to the uniformity of the iconic style. ABOUT THE SHOW WHO: MARA HOFFMAN WHAT: NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SPRING / SUMMER 2016 RUNWAY SHOW WHERE: CLARKSON SQUARE, THE GALLERY, 550 Washington Street WHEN: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2016, 9AM SPONSORS: Hair: label m USA Makeup: Sephora ABOUT THE COLLECTION (FROM THE DESIGNER): Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2016 collection is inspired by 1970’s Americana, specifically Willie Nelson and his 1978 rendition of “Blue Skies.” By filtering this theme through the Mara Hoffman lens, the collection features original prints of stars and stripes, blue skies, florals and country wheat fields in trademark silhouettes such as wide leg pants, tie-front and cut-out dresses, midi length skirts, and jumpsuits. In a modern juxtaposition, the collection combines soft pastels, neutral tones, and head-to-toe whites with saturated rainbow hues, including an aura light print reminiscent of the psychedelic era of the 1960’s and 70’s. Along with signature prints, beautiful embroidery and novelty fabrics share center stage in the Spring 2016 collection. Designs include stars embroidered on silk chiffon, a colorful landscape embroidered on twill, and wheat fields embroidered on gauze. “Our brand is often associated with far off, worldly inspirations, and this one is about bringing it on home. The Spring 2016 collection is our interpretation of classic Americana, inspired by the great Willie Nelson.” - Designer, Mara Hoffman CHRIS GELINAS SHOW Image: Chris Gelinas Runway NYFW 2015 ABOUT THE LOOK (From the Designer) "Since the collection this season was inspired by deconstructed beauty, I really wanted this look to come across in the effortless knot we created for each model, something strong that would complement the clothing and his message of controlled vulnerability. The key is not to over-mess or under-mess the look, but to create the right texture through focusing on each style delicately. The key products used to create the look were label.m Volume Mousse to prep the hair from roots to ends, section by section. Once blast-dried, we then used the NEW label.m Texturizing Volume Spray through the front and top to create a beautiful, undone, frizz-less texture, which gave the look a unique femininity. The NEW label.m Texturizing Volume Spray is one of our best selling product globally and will be launching early 2016 in the US." ABOUT THE SHOW WHO: CHRIS GELINAS WHAT: New York FASHION WEEK SPRING / SUMMER 2016 SHOW PRESENTATION WHERE: THE PARK, 118 10TH AVE WHEN: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2016, 9AM SPONSORS: Hair: label m USA Makeup: MAC Nails: Morgan Taylor ABOUT THE COLLECTION (FROM THE DESIGNER): This collection is about an escape from the noise. An intimate moment, a second glance, an instance when you know everything and nothing. We make ourselves vulnerable in these moments, and this season I want to offer my woman this vulnerability. Controlled vulnerability. Empowering, not a weakness. The fragility of a fallen strap, plackets to button and have unbuttoned. Familiar codes; cotton shirting and suiting plaids in unfamiliar iterations to invoke a curiosity. The fragile beauty of an Irving Penn poppy with the striking confidence of an Hervé Télémaque collage. Delicate shapes with graphic lines embody this collection’s juxtaposition of both control and surrender. DANIEL SILVERSTAIN SHOW Image: Daniel Silverstain Runway NYFW 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZFI_4JeGXI Inspiration for Daniel's show collection: "Since the SS2016 collection was inspired from a futuristic perspective from the late 1960's, I really wanted to do something very strong that would compliment the clothes and give that overall futuristic alien/insect feel, but with the softness of Audrey Hepburn coming through the top of the style. The hair evolved into a beautiful contradiction of two extremes with a soft, elevated front but with a very sleek and shiny element of the modern outside braid flipped and stitched into a scorpion tail. The key products used to create the look were label.m Gel used to smooth and shine the sides, the label.m Wax Stick for clean braiding and finally label.m Hairspray to set the style" Richard Mannah, International Artistic Director for label.m USA VIEW HAIR IMAGES HERE: Click here to view DANIEL SILVERSTAIN SS16 PHOTO BY JOHN CASTILLO. WHO: DANIEL SILVERSTAIN WHAT: SPRING / SUMMER 2016 RUNWAY SHOW & PRESENTATION WHERE: SHOP STUDIOS, 528 W 39TH STREET WHEN: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2016, 11AM SPONSORS: Hair: label M Makeup: Aveda Nails: Kiss Spirits: Hangar 1 Vodka Image: Richard Mannah & Silverstain Models ABOUT THE COLLECTION (From the Designer) The Spring Summer 2016 collection tells the story of the world's future from the angle of the most successful world's fair of the 20th century - the Expo67 in Montreal. With a high sense of optimism, the city turned to a hotbed of culture where individuals could tour the world in a few hours and get a look at the future from the point of view of 62 different countries. This monumental event not only placed Montreal on a global center stage, but was also the catalyst for the city's development into one of the most cosmopolitan and distinct cities in the world. Inspiration for the SS16 collection is drawn from the impressive dimensions of modern decors and innovative architecture that reshaped the city of Montreal. The color pallet of the season is built on neutral hues with contrast shapes of primary colors, representing national flags. Lace and crochet textiles are coated in metallic gloss, and intricate multi-yarn jacquards are mixed with natural wovens - creating soft and relaxed silhouettes. "In 1967, everything was wonderful.
