Mindfulness and Stress Management workshop –
The workshop will look at the use of mindfulness as an excellent way of managing stress.
Mindfulness is an approach which can help reduce the amount of time you spend worrying
about things. Learning to be mindful can help you to put things in perspective and achieve
focus.
The workshop will look at how we can combine in with other practical techniques to
reduce stress, and better manage the pressures of everyday life and work. These
strategies will also be useful for anyone wanting to know more about how to look
after and maintain their mental health.

Overcoming Procrastination
Do you avoid key work tasks by finding other things to do? Are you always important
work to the last minute?
This workshop from the LSE Staff Counselling Service will look at common difficulties with
procrastination, and will cover a wide range of practical approaches to help you manage
better the pressures upon you within the workplace. It will include a look at common myths
and how to overcome self-defeating thinking errors

Sleep Well
Are you experiencing insomnia? Disrupted asleep? Are your sleeping patterns
affecting your work or day to day functioning? Affected sleep can have an adverse
effect on our mood, functioning and wellbeing.
The workshop from the LSE Staff Counselling Service will look at a range of
difficulties associated with sleep. It will increase your understanding of its process
and examine a number of strategies and ideas about how you might work towards
achieving better sleep.

Developing Emotional Resilience
Criticism, doubt, stress and lack of confidence can impact on your sense of self, and
reduce your ability to cope with workplace challenges. How do you develop resilience
to deal with these factors and better navigate your professional life?
This workshop from the LSE Staff Counselling Service will focus on understanding
emotional resilience and learning how to develop better coping and management
strategies. It will include an opportunity to share and explore experiences within the
workplace.

Mental health first-aid – Dates to be arranged
This is a two-day nationally approved course which aims to promote awareness of
mental health issues, to train non-professionals to recognise those affected by
mental health problems and to offer help and guidance towards obtaining professional
support. It is aimed at those without specialist mental health training, but who might
encounter mental health issues in the course of their work.
