He created a kind of black and white style in the fashion photography, and he is one of the fashion photographers to push the model become ‘super model’. He worked for the English, French, German, and American Vogue, later for The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Allure, and Rolling Stone. In his childhood, he lived in a farm that belongs to his uncle. Near the farm, there was lot of old factories. He got lots of memories from the factories, so we can usually see this element in his works. He interested in shooting the women with the factories as the background. It is so strong to contrast the atmosphere between the women and factories. LINDA EVANGELISTA, HARPER S BAZAAR, FACTORY, PITTSBURGH, USA, 1992 KARA YOUNG, VOGUE ITALY, DUISBURG, GERMANY, 1984 In 1977 he got a call from a famous German art director- Willy Fleckhaus, he asked Lindbergh work for him and do stories. From that on, Lindbergh started to work on fashion photography. The best-known style of his works is black and white fashion photo. He used the memories from the traditional German black and white movie and transfer in his works. Most of the fashion picture is super real, full of art element and full of effect. But in his work, it’s ‘so real’, just like honest to told a story, the model can show the real emotion in front of his camera. His works not just like the photos, the images, the pictures, his works just like freeze-frame a moment of a film. KAREN ELSON, MILLA JOVOVICH, WILLIE HERATH, VOGUE ITALY, DOWNTOWN, LOS ANGELES, USA, 2000 FRED WARD, GUINEVERE VAN SEENUS, VOGUE ITALY, EL MIRAGE, CALIFORNIA, USA, 2000 (http://www.peterlindbergh.com/, 2013) Steven Meisel Steven Meisel, born in 1954, is an American fashion photographer, he famous for his work in US and Italian Vogue and his photographs of friend Madonna in her 1992 book Sex and Meisel has shot campaigns for Versace, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana He is now considered one of the most successful fashion photographers in the industry.
