Call for Papers Special Issue on Printable Sensors and Systems In recent years, material printing has received substantial interest as a technique for realizing low cost, large-area electronic, optoelectronic and sensing systems. The low-cost printing techniques have enabled the realization of a wide range of easily deployable systems, including displays, sensors and RFID tags. This special issue focuses on all printed types of sensors, sensor systems and functional materials. It will provide the researchers a platform to discuss common challenges (e.g. materials properties, inks, design, printing mechanisms, integration etc.) that they face, irrespective of the type of sensors or the technologies they work on. In the process, this Special Issue will consolidate the research in the newly emerging area of printable electronics. Authors are invited to submit papers on the theoretical, technological and experimental aspects of the design, development, and validation of various types of novel sensors printed on diverse substrates, e.g. planar substrates, plastic, metal foils, paper etc. Submission of review papers and tutorials is particularly encouraged. Topics - Physical sensors (e.g. pressure, tactile, humidity, temperature) - Chemical sensors (e.g. pH, gas) - Microfluidic/liquid sensors - Biosensors - Biomedical sensing devices - Electronic textile/paper/skin - Imaging Sensors - Automotive sensors - Printable batteries, energy harvesters - Wearable sensors - Sensors for health monitoring - Printable displays, lighting sources - Packaging - Smart tags, RFID tags, labels etc. Modeling of printable sensors Print dynamics and inks Printing processes 3D printing New developments in printed sensors Important dates May 31, 2014: August 31, 2014: Nov 30, 2014: Dec 2014: Deadline for Paper Submission Completion of First Review Completion of Final Review Publication Guest Editors Ravinder S.
