However, a company looking to implement a sustainability program for the first time faces a number of challenges. This EBC NH Program on Sustainability will focus on corporate sustainability issues and those questions of frequent concern to both small and large businesses. He has extensive experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) performance improvements, Quality Management Systems, and sustainability strategies. Previously, Mr. Sasseville was a Senior Manager in the ISO Management Systems practice and the Environmental Advisory Practice of the global consulting firm, KPMG, LLP. While at KPMG he served as a member of the firm’s 26-country International Sustainability Network (ISN) and as an advisor to the firm’s U.S. Integrity Management Practice. Mr. Sasseville is a certified EMS Lead Auditor, a member of ASTM’s E-60 committee on Sustainability and an author of several John Wiley and Sons books on environmental management. He serves as an Adjunct Professor in the undergraduate business program at UNH Manchester where he teaches courses on Sustainable Development. He has been a guest instructor for many organizations such as: Lakes Region Community College, the American Bearing Manufacturers Association, and the American Society of Safety Engineers. His efforts have brought such recognition as: 2 Commendations from the Governor’s office, 2007 Governor’s Pollution Prevention Award, Business Leader award from Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership and the Occupational Excellence and Million Hours Worked without a Lost Time Injury awards from the National Safety Council.
