Companies of all sizes are feeling increased pressure from employees, customers, and the
market to develop an effective corporate sustainability strategy and act in an environmentally
responsible manner. However, a company looking to implement a sustainability program for
the first time faces a number of challenges.
This EBC NH Program on Sustainability will focus on corporate sustainability issues and
those questions of frequent concern to both small and large businesses. The program will
address: What does a successful sustainability program look like? and, How can I best
communicate my firm’s sustainability programs?

Mr. Sasseville is a Senior Associate with Normandeau Associates, Inc. with 35 years of
experience as an environmental management consultant. He has extensive experience with
Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
performance improvements, Quality Management Systems, and sustainability strategies.
Previously, Mr. Sasseville was a Senior Manager in the ISO Management Systems practice
and the Environmental Advisory Practice of the global consulting firm, KPMG, LLP. While at
KPMG he served as a member of the firm’s 26-country International Sustainability Network
(ISN) and as an advisor to the firm’s U.S. Integrity Management Practice. Mr. Sasseville is a
certified EMS Lead Auditor, a member of ASTM’s E-60 committee on Sustainability and an
author of several John Wiley and Sons books on environmental management. He serves as
an Adjunct Professor in the undergraduate business program at UNH Manchester where he
teaches courses on Sustainable Development.

Alyson Genovese is a consultant for organizations in the private, nonprofit and academic
sectors that wish to build or enhance their Community Relations, Public Affairs and Corporate
Social Responsibility strategies. Recent clients include National Grid, EBSCO Publishing,
University of New Hampshire, Target, Redbox and Northwestern Mutual. She is the author of
Ethical Corporation's international publication "Corporate Responsibility: United States
Briefing."

Parry Headrick has spent the last decade doing PR and social media in Silicon Valley, for
companies such as Google and Logitech and a range of b2b companies. He was
instrumental in launching one of the country’s most popular blogs about public relations –
really putting social media to work to gain business that substantially grew the agency.

Herb Parkhurst is a licensed mechanical engineer and Certified Energy Manager who has
been involved with footprint reduction activities since 1994. Most recently, he has managed
environmental, safety, facility and machine repair activities at New Hampshire Ball Bearings
in Laconia, NH since 2002. He has been a guest instructor for many organizations such as:
Lakes Region Community College, the American Bearing Manufacturers Association, and the
American Society of Safety Engineers. His efforts have brought such recognition as: 2
Commendations from the Governor’s office, 2007 Governor’s Pollution Prevention Award,
Business Leader award from Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership and the Occupational
Excellence and Million Hours Worked without a Lost Time Injury awards from the National
Safety Council. His vision of reducing the impact of all environmental, safety, energy and
facilities activities has produced a long history of sustainability initiatives.
