In the aquatic biology curricula and its core classes listed above, I feel I became proficient in skills of
using program R for data analysis and population dynamics, fish identification, taxonomic identification
(aquatic plants, zooplankton, aquatic invertebrates, fish), collection of specimens using electrofishing
equipment and a variety of nets including seine hauls, Fyke nets, zooplankton nets, extraction as well as
aging fish from otoliths, cleithrum and scales, use of a YSI meter for temperature, pH, Redox and
dissolved oxygen, use of a Secci disk to measure water clarity/turbidity. In laboratory settings I have
also worked with population growth of invertebrates, chlorophyll α assessment, calculation of AFDM,
etc.
