Job Title: Division Director - Infectious Disease Bureau Education
Salary: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 Annually
Job Type: Hourly Full-Time 40

Description
Directs the Division and its staff in all areas of Infectious Disease related to
education, including but not limited to Sexually Transmitted Infections, Hepatitis
B and C, TB, Foodborne Illness, Influenza and others.

Directs Infectious Disease Bureau Education Initiatives to ensure
coordination both internally and externally.
·
Acts as a liaison with other BPHC programs, divisions, and Bureaus as
well as outside agencies on a regular basis.
·
Evaluates the effectiveness of Division initiatives.
·
Meets regularly with the ID Bureau Director regarding all aspects of
Division operations, including but not limited to matters regarding division staff
and other confidential matters; functions as part of the ID Bureau Leadership
Team.
·
Networks with community based organizations and groups to identify
infectious disease issues of concern and develop relevant programs. Educates
the community about emerging or persistent infectious disease issues in various
groups.
·
Analyzes infectious disease surveillance data and sets the priorities of the
Division in conjunction with the Bureau Director.
·
Provides leadership to Division staff.
·
Represents the Infectious Disease Bureau on committees related to
infectious disease educational and policy development.
·
Seeks funding and writes proposals for a wide range of infectious
diseases. Serves as the Principal Investigator on grants as directed.
·
Provides technical consultation for Division and Bureau staff as needed
related to Infectious disease initiatives and strategies.
·
Works with the Bureau Director and Bureau Administrator to create the
Division budget.
·
Responsible for the Division budget and appropriate expenses pertaining
to infectious disease education initiatives.
·
Works with the Bureau Administrator to recommend, review, and assist in
creation of proposals for collective bargaining on behalf of the CDC Division.
·
·
May attend collective bargaining sessions and participate in collective
bargaining as a management representative, including bargaining sessions for
collective bargaining agreements with the unions representing the division staff.
·
Makes recommendations related to management and personnel regarding
division staff, including but not limited to promotion, transfer, assignment of staff,
and imposition of discipline.
·
May represent management in grievance and arbitration processes
·
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
·
Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field required.
·
A minimum of 10 years of increasingly senior experience in public health
or health care experience, preferably in the area of infectious diseases required.
Clinical background and experience preferred.
·
Minimum of three years management experience required.
·
Demonstrated excellent leadership abilities, including team building and
collaboration skills.
·
Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
·
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·
Experience working in the community a plus.
·
Demonstrated cultural competence with diverse populations. Bilingual
preferable, bicultural desirable.
·
Valid driver’s license and a car required.
·
A Criminal Offenders Records Information request must be completed for
this position. However, a record is not an automatic bar to employment but is
reviewed in relation to the job applied for.

Certain immunizations may be required for this position.
·
Boston Residency Required (or willingness to relocate.)
Additional Information:
Requires occasional night and weekend hours as well as carrying a pager on a
rotating basis
