Nurture Nature
This can be completed as a class activity or a creative homework task
Nature is important to all of our lives. Humans, plants and animals are all linked
together; relying on each other to survive.
The Eco committee want to show how much nature matters to all our lives, so
we’re running a competition to showcase your drawing, writing or photography
skills. Summer is a great time to appreciate plants and animals, so grab your
camera or paper and a pencil and go exploring.
Option 1 - Take a photograph of your favourite plant or animal
 It could be a photograph of your family pet or get creative and try and
photograph a squirrel or a fox that you see in the wild. Please add a brief
description to go along with the photograph.
 You could photograph something that you have grown in your garden.
 Choose a pretty flower in your garden or on a walk in the woods and take
a close up photograph.
Option 2 – Write a story telling us why wildlife and wild places matter to you.
 You could write about meeting or seeing your favourite animal for the
first time.
 Tell us about your favourite place to go for a walk
or to play outdoors.
Option 3 - Draw or Paint a picture of your favourite animal or plant.
 Please include a short description of why you chose to draw or paint that
animal.
There will be prizes and certificates for winning entries.
Rules: You must take the photograph, draw the picture or write the story yourself.
Photographs must be printed out.
Please hand your entries to Mrs McGregor in room 1.3 by Wednesday 17th June.
Good luck from the Eco Committee
