Dear Parents,
We are excited to announce that we will be offering a new curriculum here at Just Like
Home Childcare: Little Learners Curriculum. Our plan is to start implementing the new
curriculum the first week of June. This curriculum has been specifically designed and created
for the children of Just Like Home based on their specific needs, the Arkansas Frameworks and
Benchmarks, and Kindergarten Readiness goals. We will still be using some very important
aspects of The Creative Curriculum such as allowing children flexibility when completing
activities and learning through free play, but we feel Little Learners will offer our children more
structure, hands-on learning, and an environment that stimulates creativity and problem
solving.
The key components of Little Learners Curriculum are: Technology, Science and
Discovery, Math and Manipulatives, Language and Literacy, and Art. In addition to these key
components, we will also be offering a weekly culinary class and physical fitness activities for
our Toddler, Pre-School, and Pre-K classrooms. Just Like Home will also be incorporating center
wide themes on a monthly basis to ensure that basic concepts remain the same throughout the
center. If you would like a detailed breakdown of Little Learners Curriculum, please stop by the
office and pick up a packet. We are working on adding this information to our website as well.
Your child’s Lead Teacher will be sending you weekly emails with an overview of what
you can expect your child to learn that week. We encourage you to participate in their
learning! Our expectation is that this new curriculum will help our children discover new
concepts and learn in new ways. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate
