Quantitative Analysis
Our rhetorical approach plugs in with most courses in
other disciplines. My areas of interest are generally
connected to cultural/pop culture studies, education,
and social issues – social justice/civic engagement and
immersion experiences.
Connective Themes of ENGL 221: structure of language
(phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics),
regional and social dialects, first language acquisition.
Would like to connect with CSD 262 Phonetics, CSD 262
Normal Communication Development, ANTH 315
Language in Culture and Society, GEOG 111 Human
Geography and others.
Connective Themes of ENGL 325: structure of language
(phonology, morphology, systax, semantics, pragmatics),
historical events related to the history of the English
language, language change, regional and social dialects.
Would like to connect with: Engl 257/357, Engl 351,
early British literature courses (e.g., Engl 252, 352, 452),
British (or European) history, and others
Gender inequality, women’s empowerment
Would like to connect with women’s studies, sociology,
any course that has a common interest

PHYS 205 connected themes are sustainability,
renewable energy, global warming. I would like to
partner with any course that has themes similar to mine.
It might be interesting to connect with an English 110 or
ENG 305, 308, where technical topics in my course could
be used for writing topics.
This course has no specific theme connected to
it. Students continue their language acquisition and work
towards increased proficiency in reading, writing and
speaking as they practice the language in more academic
settings. Since there is no specific course content, it lends

itself to be paired/bundled quite easily with other
thematically-based courses. I am open to learning about
anything (in regards to pairing up with other colleagues),
but my most recent scholarly endeavors have dealt with
theoretical constructions of urban space as they relate to
Madrid, and the attempt to create agency or identity in
the face of a society obsessed with virtual reality (or as
Castells states, "real virtuality"). Having said this, I am
open to connecting with anybody. If we want to target
freshmen, we typically get at least one section of this class
completely filled by first-year students during summer
orientation. So, we could hide the section until freshmen
begin to register in June – if a pairing or bundling works
out.

Looking for an ECON or Finance course to pair with.
(Perhaps consider Math 111 because econ and business
majors tend to take Math 111 instead of Math 114.)
Pair MATH 112 with a biology or chemistry course,
perhaps MATH 114 with PHYS 232?
