Two Midterm Examinations: 25% each
Final Examination (Comprehensive): 40%
Home Work Problems: 10%.
Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Additional hours will be added
after student feedback. If you cannot see me during regular office hours,
please email to arrange an appointment at another time. The use of email
to ask questions is strongly encouraged. For email questions of general
interest, the question and answer will be sent via email to the entire class
after the name of the person who asked the question originally is removed.
The University Senate has stipulated that "the commitment of acts of
cheating, lying, and deceit in any of their diverse forms (such as the use of
ghost-written papers, the use of substitutes for taking examinations, the
use of illegal cribs, plagiarism, and copying during examinations) is
dishonest and must not be tolerated. Moreover, knowingly to aid and abet,
directly or indirectly, other parties in committing dishonest acts is in itself
dishonest." In case of academic dishonesty the guidelines found at
http://www.purdue.edu/odos/osrr/dishonesty.htm will be followed.
The schedule and grading policy for the course is subject to change in case
of campus emergencies.
