Students – The EHS Golf Team is looking for 9th – 11th graders interested in improving their game of golf. The Golf program is a great way to do that. You will practice every day after school and will have a coach to help your game. It’s a great way to have fun and enjoy the outdoors. It’s not too late to sign up for this year’s team. Come to the office now, if you have not confirmed your name for your diploma yet The final ACT test given here at Emmett High School is coming up on Saturday, April 18. Registration deadline is March 13 so register ASAP at www.actstudent.org and see Mr. LaVergne in the counseling office if you have any questions. Seniors, there is another opportunity for a scholarship through the Optimist International Organization. If you can write an essay on "Optimism Should be a Priority", come see Mrs. Obermeyer. Senior Class officers are putting together a slide show for graduation. They are asking for a baby picture but will take a current picture. Tux & Drape pictures will be used for all students that do not send in a picture for the slide show. This is different than the yearbook so you will need to resubmit a picture for the slide show. Registration Forms and Money are due to Mrs. Torres by next Monday, March 9, by 3:00PM, or your team will not be included in the tournament. Seniors - the Third District Officials Association annually presents a $500.00 scholarship to one deserving young man and young woman in the name of Bill Herr, a longtime official and commissioner. Applicants need to be a graduating senior, participate in an activity sanctioned by IHSAA or OSAA and demonstrate academic excellence, citizenship, and community involvement. See Mrs. Obermeyer to see if you qualify and pick up an application. Heart-n-Home Cicely Ambassador Team is having an Activity Bag Donation Drive March 2 - 13. Items needed are Brain Puzzles, Magazines, Crossword Puzzles, Activity Books, Reading Books, Sketch Pads, Colored Pencils, Modeling Clay, Playing Cards or Card Games, Note Cards, Dice... The Cicely Ambassador Team is a group of high school students that have been nominated by their school counselors and/or leadership teachers. Heart 'n Home works closely with participating students. Each student attends Heart 'n Home Volunteer Services training; the Cicely Ambassador Leadership and Planning Retreat, various team planning meetings, and participates in two community service projects. They also volunteer at least one hour per week for a hospice patient. The Activity Bag Donation Drive helps provide them with the tools needed for these visits.
