services
1. Use your optional statement of service delivery to describe fully what is going on
2. Remember when entering all services, your total reported service time cannot go over the number of total minutes in a
school day (roughly 2170 for high school, 2035 for middle, 1975 elem)
3. You can fix this by selecting the Manual Override on the LRE Tab of the Services Screen.
Here’s an example:
When we enter in services on the IEP, one of the reasons we itemize the services, rather than just put "special education" is that
we can run individual reports to determine how many students are receiving instruction in reading, written language, etc.
Example student is in high school, high functioning so is receiving special education instruction in reading, written language,
math and also has a social skills class. This student has goals in all 4 areas. She also happens to require full day nursing services.
We know that the student can't receive more special education and related services than the number of minutes in a full week
of school (let's say that is 2250 minutes per week). Based on our need to list the service areas separately, her IEP services page
would look like this:
We need to make sure to manually adjust the LRE code like this so that the total time doesn’t go over the total number of
minutes per week.:

In order to bill for IBI and to show that Bob needs those services throughout the day, you would put the full minutes in
IBI and can also include the other minutes in his classes on the services page.
However, in the statement of service delivery, you would put a statement like this: Bob's behavior is such that he requires
the level of support provided by an intensive behavior intervention professional for his full school day. In addition to this
service, he will also require small group instruction in the (extended?) resource room in the areas of math, reading,
written language, job training and life skills as well as adaptive PE in the general education setting.
The total minutes in his school day is 2035 and the specific courses to meet his goals are listed above in the services table
but take place concurrently so not to total over 2035 minutes.
THEN on the LRE tab of the services page click "manual override" and in the SE (special ed minutes box), you replace the
too many minutes with 2035.
