Nature of Counseling: As your counselor, I will work with you to more fully understand yourself and the challenges you are facing. I believe the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance and will be one of mutual respect and cooperation. You will be asked to be an active participant in our work, as I may suggest assignments, readings, or activities for you to do between sessions. As a Rational Emotive Behavior Therapist, it is my belief that our emotional responses are based on our beliefs Daphne@DaphneRiddleCounseling.com 349 Keller Parkway, Ste 200, Keller, TX, 76248 940-395-3009 Page 1 Daphne Riddle, LPC Providing Counseling, Coaching, Workshops and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy that we’ve cultivated about ourselves, others and the world around us. And gaining understanding with a motivation towards change will help us confront our irrational or harmful thoughts and behaviors. I recently began delving deeper into training and study on the therapeutic process of Mindfulness and Brain Integration. I believe these schools of thought work well in conjunction with each other and can provide deep and meaningful positive change in our lives. AVAILABLE SERVICES: I provide counseling services, for individuals, families, couples, and group services. I use counseling techniques that include, but are not limited to; REBT, Mindfulness, Brain Integration, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. COUNSELING: I provide counseling designed to address many of the issues my clients are dealing with including depressed mood, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, communication difficulties and reconciliation of past problems or relationships. Your first visit will be an assessment session in which you and I will determine your concerns, and if both agree that I can meet your therapeutic needs, develop a plan of treatment. It is imperative to your success in therapy that you are willing to work at the plan we develop together. My goal is to provide the most effective therapeutic experience available to you. If at any time you feel that you and I are not a good fit, please discuss this matter with me to determine if transferring to a more suitable therapist is right for you. If we decide that other services would be more appropriate, I can assist you in finding a provider to meet your needs. RISKS AND BENEFITS: Counseling and psychotherapy are beneficial, but as with any treatment, there are inherent risks. During counseling, you will have discussions about personal issues which may bring to the surface uncomfortable emotions. However, the benefits of counseling can far outweigh any discomfort encountered during the process. Some of the possible benefits are improved personal relationships, reduced feelings of emotional distress, and specific problem solving. Of course, these benefits cannot be guaranteed. It is my desire, however, to work with you to attain your personal goals for counseling/psychotherapy. CLIENT/THERAPIST RELATIONSHIP: You and I will have a professional relationship existing exclusively for therapeutic treatment. This relationship functions most effectively when it remains strictly professional and involves only the therapeutic aspect. I can best serve clients’ needs by focusing solely on therapy and avoiding any type of social or business relationship. Gifts are not appropriate, nor are any sort of trades of service for service.
