2015 Youth Mentorship Program
Bringing Northern Youth to their Capital City to learn about
Government & Public Service Careers
Over the past five years, 92 northern students have participated in this program and learned about
government decision-making, what it means to be a public servant, and have made new friends. We
are looking forward to hosting the 2015 Youth Mentorship Program in Regina from May 3-6, 2015.

Meeting the politicians and getting to experience what they do in the Mock Parliament was exciting.
My plan was to go to university even before this trip. It is something I definitely want to do now for
sure. Also finding out what kind of jobs are available within government.
I will tell students in different classes about my trip and how they can get involved next year.
Comments from students on the 2014 trip.
This year’s program is still in development but will be similar in scope to previous offerings which
have included meeting the Lieutenant Governor, the Premier, members of Cabinet and MLAs; tours
of the Legislative Building, Government House and the RCMP Training Academy; tours of the
University of Regina and the First Nations University of Canada; short presentations about careers in
the public service … and some time to visit other capital city attractions!
Students and chaperones stay in residence at the University of Regina, and all expenses to participate
in the program are covered, including transportation from either La Ronge or Prince Albert
depending on applications.
Enclosed is the application form, which includes the criteria for a short essay, to be passed along to
interested students. Submissions must be sent to Donna Cuddington at the Provincial Capital
Commission, either by email toDonna.Cuddington@gov.sk.ca or by fax to 306-787-5714. Note that
the deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
