STATEMENT OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
This is a regular meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education. Adequate notice of this meeting has been
provided in that this Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger on June 11, 2012. Said
notice was published in the Star Ledger on June 14, 2012 and the Glen Ridge Paper on June 21, 2012.
The date, time, and location of this meeting were also emailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of
the Board's meetings.

P-1 Resignation
Accept the resignation of Tina Laglia, part-time instructional aide at Linden Avenue School, effective
October 27, 2012 or sooner if a replacement can be found.
P-2 Volunteer
Approve William Indek as a volunteer for the high school track team during the 2013 spring season.
P-3 Substitutes
Approve the addition of Ann Zimny, Jennifer Balarezo and Marlene McMillan to the substitute list for the
2012-2013 school year.

P-4 Rescind Appointment
Rescind the appointment of Matthew Lawrence as a part-time special education aide at Glen Ridge High
School for the 2012-2013 school year.
P-5 Appointment
Approve the appointment of Diana DeLorenzo (replacing Deanna Warchola) as a part-time instructional
aide at Forest Avenue School, on aide step 1 ($17.72 per hour) effective October 29, 2012 through June
30, 2013.

C-1 Field Trips
Approve the following field trips for students for the 2012-2013 school year:
a. Linden Avenue 1st grade students to see the play “Junie B. Jones” being held at Montclair State
University Memorial Auditorium in Montclair, NJ on January 30, 2013 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.a)
b. Linden Avenue 2nd grade students to visit the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on
November 30, 2012 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.b)
c. Ridgewood Avenue 3rd grade students to visit the Glen Ridge Public Library on November 26, 27, 28,
29, 30 and December 3, 2012 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.c)
d. Ridgewood Avenue 6th grade students to see the play “The Life, Loves, and Tales of Terror of Edgar
Allan Poe” being held at Castle Theatre in Budd Lake, NJ on November 1, 2012 as per the attached.

e. Linden Avenue 1st grade students to participate in the Backyard Bug Safari, Animal Safari and On a
Wing being held at the New Museum on May 17, 2013 as per the attached, (Exhibit C-1.e).
f. High School 7th grade students to visit West Point Academy in New York on April 17, 2013 as per the
attached. (Exhibit C-1.f)
g. Forest Avenue kindergarten students to visit the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts in Madison, NJ on
November 6, 2012 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.g)

Approve the following financial reports as recommended by the Finance Committee:
a. Certification of Fund Balance
Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(e), we certify that as of July 31, 2012 after review of the Secretary's
monthly financial reports and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, to the best of our
knowledge no major account or fund has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(b) and
that sufficient funds were available to meet the district's financial obligations for the fiscal year.

a. Joyce Mooney to attend the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival being held at the NJPAC in Newark, NJ
on October 12, 2012 for a total registration cost of $39.40.
b. Aaron Pacheco to attend the following Educational Facility Management Program courses: Structural &
Mechanical Systems being held in West Orange, NJ from October 9-23, 2012 for a cost of $465;
Information Systems being held in Glen Ridge, NJ from November 8-29, 2012 for a cost of $545; and
Energy Management being held in Parsippany, NJ on December 7, 2012 for a cost of $233.
c. Lisa Petruzzi and Erin Goldstein to attend the workshop “Enhance Your Instruction with Interactive
Whiteboards” being held in Newark, NJ on November 14, 2012 for a total registration cost of $225 for
Ms. Petruzzi and a total cost of $232.50 ($225 registration plus $7.50 travel) for Ms. Goldstein.
d. Deborah Fitzpatrick to attend the 4th Annual PreK-3 Annual Leadership Conference being held at the
FEA Conference Center in Monroe, NJ on November 2, 2012 for a total cost of $75.40 ($45 registration
plus $30.40 travel).
e. Lisa Walter and Diane Blazier to attend the workshop “Practical Strategies for Meeting the Rigorous
Common Core State Standards for Writing” being held in Parsippany, NJ on December 3, 2012 for a total
registration cost of $215 per person.
f. Cecelia Lynch to attend the College Board AP US History workshop being held at Verona High School in
Verona, NJ on December 3, 2012 for a total cost of $198 ($180 registration plus $18 travel).
g. Vivian Petrosino to attend the workshop “School Refusal Behavior: Effective Techniques to Help
Children Who Can’t or Won’t Go to School” being held in Parsippany, NJ on October 24, 2012 for a total

Holiday Inn in Budd Lake, NJ on October 9, 2012 for a total travel cost of $21.19.

Rescind the out-of-district placement of student #14123 to attend The Holmstead School effective
September 25, 2012.
B-4 New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Glen Ridge Board of Education rescind the New Jersey Commission for the
Blind and Visually Impaired contract for Level of Service 1 for student #14114 in the amount of $1,700
for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year due to a change in educational services to Level of
Service 2 effective October 3, 2012.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Glen Ridge Board of Education approve a contract with the New
Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired for Level of Service 2 for student #14114 in the
amount of $4,100 for the 2012-2013 school year effective October 4, 2012.
B-5 Workshop
Approve Elisabeth Ginsburg to attend the New Jersey School Boards Convention being held in Atlantic
City, NJ from October 23-25, 2012 for a cost not to exceed $800.
