If you’re passionate about your career, there’s no better place than Maricopa Integrated Health System Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager or designee, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for the safe, effective and cost-effective use of medications at the patient point of care through the application of specialized knowledge, skills and professional judgment. Functions as the pharmaceutical care expert in their designated patient care area(s). Responsible for the formulary management and performance improvement processes for assigned patient care area(s). Oversees activities of medication use including prescribing and administration in accordance with pharmacy law and accepted standards of practice. Provides specialized drug information to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Requires a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience. Must have at least one to two (1-2) years of Pharmacist experience preferably in a hospital setting. Health-system clinical pharmacy specialist and ASHP-accredited post graduate pharmacy residency training considered equivalent experience and preferred. Requires a Pharmacy licensure in the state of Arizona. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with pharmacy staff, nursing, physicians, patients and other health care professionals. Must have knowledge of computer software, pharmacy related systems and Microsoft applications. Experience with automated dispensing systems (i.e., Pyxis) is beneficial. Expected to demonstrate ability and willingness to maintain competency as required for job title and specific area(s) of responsibility. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
