SCHOOL CONCERT SPECTACULAR SENIOR 6 INFORMATION! Dear Senior 6 Families, The school concert is fast approaching and tickets are selling fast! We are likely to sell out this year, so please grab your tickets ASAP. Important information is included in this letter… Please read carefully! Please also check Le Journal, and my blog: madamedavies.edublogs.org for more information and updates. • The school concert is during the evening of Monday November 30. • It’s going to be very spectacular this year, so you should all come! • You don’t need to buy tickets for CPS students (just audience members). • It is held at Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash Uni, Clayton. • The children need to be there by 6:15pm. The foyer opens at 6pm and the kids need to be ready, onstage, prior to the official start at 6:30pm. • Not all students will attend the “concert rehearsal” at 9am on 30/11. Only Anica R, Jujhar V, Charlie C and Campbell E will be required for this rehearsal. • Grade 6 has a number of important costume changes. Please see below… COSTUME 1: • ON ARRIVAL, all children need to be dressed in ALL BLACK (“theatre blacks”- integral for the whole school massed-item). Shoes, socks/tights, shirts, t-shirts, jumpers, skirts, shorts, dresses, pants, whatever… but all black please! • Printed black t-shirts could be worn inside-out. School shoes would be ideal, but if your child only has runners, any white/fluoro bits could be covered with black tape. • Big W/ Kmart/ Target have very cheap clothing/footwear, but if you don’t have anything at home and don’t wish to purchase new items that’s totally fine! As close to black as possible will do! COSTUME 2: • For the S6 Concert item, the students will be representing the 90s. We have made caps in Art/Music. • These caps (alongside the students’ theatre blacks) will be enough for their 1990’s item. • As we have many enthusiastic students, I have also said the grade 6’s could be responsible for their own 90’s costumes (i.e. if the kids want to wear trackies/ overalls/ 90’s gear for this song they can). COSTUME 3: • For their Graduation Ceremony, S6 students need to be dressed in FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM, i.e. their hoody and shorts/ school dress. Polo tops won’t be needed, as they’ll be hidden under the hoody. I HAVE SUGGESTED TO THE S6 STUDENTS THAT THEY COULD BRING THEIR SCHOOL BAG (or another named backpack) CONTAINING THEIR SCHOOL UNIFORM. These will be hung in the male/ female change rooms for easy access. STUDENTS NEED TO COME BACKSTAGE AT THE BEGINNING OF INTERVAL to collect their caps/ change for the 90’s number. After the 90’s number the S6 students will exit to backstage to change for graduation. Thank you for your understanding with the costumes requirements! I know it is a bit of a hassle but it will make for a really special night. Further information: • On the night there will be professional programs for sale ($5) featuring your children’s names and faces. So if you have a spare fiver, please bring one along! • There will be an interval of 15-20 minutes at around 7:30- 8pm. • G6 will watch all of “Act 1” from the audience. They will be backstage for much of “Act 2” but will be able to watch the action on the Green Room’s widescreen monitor. S6 students will then be led to the balcony walkway for their Grad Ceremony. Any parts of Act 2 they might miss they will get to watch on DVD postconcert. For more info/ ticketing etc. please check Le Journal. Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you at the concert!
