Meeting held 19th May 2015
PRESENT: Alister Buchanan , Jane OBrien , Murray Wiggins, Carol Murphy, Don Macdonald, Jenny

APOLOGIES: Annette Hagan, Alison Saville, Fred Twyford , Karen Cowley.
Previous minutes of 21st April approved as a true and accurate record, Jane/Carol.
MATTERS ARISING: Charity tournament ; as we have not heard from the Asthma society it was
suggested that Jane approach the Leukemia society and offer to organise the afternoon tea as they
are without any helpers in HB. Jenny/Carol/ Jane agreed to help.
There has been no reply from Matt Olsen re sponsorship of the open tournament and it was decided
that Jane approach Cath to see what the situation might be.
Accepted and approved Don/Murray.
CORRESPONDENCE: Inward/outward. Approved Alister/ Murray.
FINANCE: copies of the report were circulated -adopted & approved Alister/ Jane
TOURNAMENTS: Carol confirmed the procedure of tournament protocol re notification &
sponsorship, Open pairs $25 ( Bring your own lunch).
LESSONS: Carol has been visiting the lessons and has suggested we have a few Wednesday night
sessions for the players before they enter into the normal club sessions.
Jane suggested that once these Wednesday night sessions were finished ,that we should
promote/suggest that they play on our Monday night and Friday afternoon. It was felt these times
would suit them .
Jenny offered to write a flyer to encourage people to play with them.
SUCESSION: Jane offered to become Vice President at the next election if one was required.
Murray will instruct the Thursday night players about the emergency lighting and door, as he has
done for the Monday night players.
A special thanks was given to Don for organising the wine deal from Trinity Hill.
It was decided by the committee that visitors were entitled to play 3 times at the club before they
would be expected to join the club.
Meeting closed at 6pm.
