Monday, 24.08.2015 Arrival Date to Rome Arrival date for the members of the International Pinzgauer Cattle Breeders Association in Rome. Due to the different arrival time of the members, the transfer to the hotel is to carry out oneself. The group meets for diner, where the members will know the program and their permanent guide for the next days. After an introducing conference the evening will be at free disposal. Tuesday, 25.08.2015 Vatican Museum, Colosseum, Trastevere Quarter The group dedicates this day to the wonderful city of Rome, known also as “The Eternal City”. The program will start in the Vatican area, visiting the Vatican Museum and the most beautiful Chapel in the world: The Sistine Chapel. From the Vatican Museums the group reaches St. Peter’s Basilica. After a common lunch the group will leave the Vatican and drive on to visit the Colosseum, one of the most important testimonials of the Roman Culture. For the evening we have chosen a nice restaurant in the quarter Trastevere, perhaps the quarter, where to feel best the “Bella Vita” style of Italian awareness of life. Wednesday, 26.08.2015 Venice The group leaves Rome and continues to Venice. After arrival to the hotel the group will meet the city guide to make a tour through the City of the Doges. You will see St. Mark’s Place and St. Mark’s Basilica as well as the famous Rialto Bridge. Diner will be in a restaurant in Venice. Thursday, 27.08.2015 Winery "Serego Alighieri" and Verona The journey continues to Sant’ Ambrogio di Valpolicella, where the group visits the winery of “Serego Alighieri”. Dante Alighieri spent several years of his exile in Verona. His son felt in love with the beautiful landscape and bought “Casal dei Ronchi”, today known as Winery Serego Alighieri. After twenty generations it still belongs to the earls of Serego Alighieri, direct descendants of the famous poet Dante Alighieri. The lunch will be at the restaurant of Serego Alighieri. The group will then reach Verona. In Verona the members have the possibility to visit the Opera “Aida” of Giuseppe Verdi. Ötzi - the iceman Friday, 28.08.2015 Bozen, Conference of the International Pinzgauer Cattle Breeders Association, Gardens of Trauttmansdorff, Gala Diner in the Felsenkeller Today the group reaches Bozen, the capital of South Tyrol. The members make a short city tour and visit the famous “Ötzi – the Iceman”. Today there will be the conference of the International Pinzgauer Cattle Breeders Association. As supporting program we offer the visit of the “Gardens of Trauttmansdorff” near Meran. In the special ambience of the “Felsenkeller” there will be held a special diner: The farmer's wives from the Sarntaler valley offer "Ollerhand Selbergmochts", a great buffet with typical food and beverage made by the farmer's wives themselves. Pichler Farm Ahornach Prettau - Hl. Geist Saturday, 29.08.2015 Prettau, Heilig Geist and Pichler Farm in Ahornach The north-east side of South Tyrol is the todays point of interest. The members visit the mine in Prettau, important for its copper ore since 1400. The last village in this beautiful valley is “Heilig Geist” where the members will visit the Pinzgauer herd of the farmer Rastbichl. On the visit program is also the Pichler farm in Ahornach, where the members will be also invited to a typical “Ahrntaler” diner. Seiser Alm - a mountain Pasture Sunday, 30.08.2015 Seiser Alm and the Moarhof One of the most beautiful mountain pastures attends the group today: the “Seiser Alm”. The group starts early from the hotel to take the panoramic road to the mountain pasture. There the members visit the Pinzgauer herd of Stuflesser Thomas. Afterwards the group continues to Lajen and visits the Moarhof farm, where the group is invited to a nice evening with the Tantscher Farmer. Earth Pillar in "Ritten" Monday, 31.08.2015 Ritten, Earth Pillar and Schwarzsee With the Rittner Cable Car the group starts from Bozen to Ritten. Ritten is known for the Earth Pillar, which the group will visit first. Afterwards the group continues to Pemmern and takes the lift to “Schwarzseespitze” – the panorama view is wonderful. In the mountain restaurant Schwarzsee the group will have lunch and then hike along the panoramic walk. By the way they will see the herd of cattle at the mountain pasture. The day will be conclude with an original “Tiroler” evening. There will be a large buffet with Tyrolean specialities as well as folkloristic music and dance. The Dolomites an UNESCO wolrd Natural Heritage Tuesday, 01.09.2015 The Three Battlements and the Gsieser Valley The Three Battlements belonging to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage will be visited today. With the bus the group takes the panoramic route to the high mountains. A unique panorama will be offered. After a lunch in the surroundings of Toblach the members visit the Pinzgauer Cattle Farm “Hirber” in the Gsieser Valley. Then the group returns back to the hotel in Bozen, where they have a common diner. The permanent guide will say goodbye. Seiser Alm - a mountain Pasture Wednesday, 02.09.2015 End of the journey The transfer to the airport is to carry out oneself or hotel extension in South Tyrol.
