We are looking for THREE PhD candidates to participate in the following three
inter-disciplinary projects.
1. Development of 3D spectroscopic autofluorescence imaging in endoscopy for tissue
characterization,
2. Rapid Malaria Diagnosis using Magnetically Enriched Surface Enhanced Raman
Spectroscopy
3. Investigation of depth sensitive Raman spectroscopy in wound healing assessment for
optimal treatment.
The candidate will participate in an inter-disciplinary program in collaboration with other
schools or research centers at NTU. The candidate will need to apply for Interdisciplinary
Graduate School (IGS) Scholarship. The scholarship will cover both stipend and tuition. For

Dr. Liu Quan's laboratory in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Nanyang
Technological University is seeking a qualified person for ONE post-doctoral research fellow
positions in the field of biophotonics (biomedical optics). This laboratory focuses on the
development of novel biomedical optics/biophotonics technology for medical diagnostics. The
successful candidate will be involved in the development of optical imaging and spectroscopy
for cancer diagnosis and biological science research. The candidate should have hand-on
experience in handling optics and opto-electronic components or carrying out biophotonics
research. The salary will be determined in accordance with NTU's policy. The initial contract
will be one year and could be extended depending upon mutual interests. For more

Qualifications:

the field of biophotonics. This laboratory focuses on the development of novel biomedical
optics/biophotonics techniques for medical diagnostics. The responsibilities of the project
officer will include lab maintenance and participating in project development. The person will
have an opportunity to get trained in optical experiments, spectroscopic data analysis and
