Responsibilities and Functions of the WAYS and MEANS COMMITTEE: A. Will make recommendations for fund raising for all Revenues, new projects, setting up and proposing yearly budgets for A.M.E. Zion Alumni Association in the Americas in collaboration with the financial secretary. B. Mission and Purpose: 1. To oversee all fund raising activities of the Association of the AMZUAAA. 2. The Ways and Means Committee is an Operations committee that will work to fulfilling the following duties: 3. Seek to encourage the leadership to seek opportunities for financial growth. 4. Identifying and supporting creative fund raising events and activities that is gear toward providing support for projects earmark for the A.M.E. Zion University and the Alumni Association. 5. Will lead well planned and executed policy for future projects, fund raising, and annual conventions of the Alumni Association. 6. Will provide leadership supports for all major funds raising and future projects with complete budget analysis in accomplishing those projects, for example, computer Lap project, support for the Zion re-location project, and honoring of personalities and dignitaries for their contributions to the University and the association as deem necessary by this body. Membership and Communication Committee: The basic functions of the membership committee is to mobilize, encourage, and attract new members including alumnus/graduates, former students, members of the teaching staff and former professors, past presidents of the University, friends and affiliates of alumni members of association. Other methods to increasing our membership are as follow: 1. To contact prospective members by phone calls, emails, including social networks such as Facebook contacts, massager, thwarted, WhatsApp’s, etc., etc. 2. Contact all new and active members personally through the above mean and welcome them into the Alumni Association’s monthly general meetings. 3. Contact delinquent members who have been away from the association’s activities for a long time, encourage them to renew their membership and to greet and introduce new members during general meetings. 4. Response to disgruntled members phone calls, disagreements and disappointments toward the association and solicit feedbacks for improvements back into the association. 5. Makes phone calls to sick members and if necessary, visits those who are hospitalized as a way of extending our moral support and brotherly friendship to those in need. 6. Engage graduates living in other parts of the Americas to establishing chapters and branches of the association for example in Canada, Brazil, Argentina, etc. with the consent of the Executives and this body. 7. Finally, the committee shall plan and implement an annual membership drive or get-amember campaign for attracting new members to the association. Function of the communication Committee: The primary mission and goals of this committee is to supervise, monitor, and improve the communication link between the leadership, the entire membership, alumni association in Liberia, the A.M. Z. Church, the administration of the University, the Board of Trustee and the and the general public on the day-to-day functions of the association. 1. This committee shall be responsible for the Operations and maintenance of the website of the A. M. E. Zion University Alumni Association in the Americas (AMEZUAAA); including publication of all minutes of past meetings, citation for future meetings, announcements, publication of newsletters, Memorandum and agreements reached by the membership, the executives and the Board of Trustee of the institution. 2. Communication Committee shall regularly inform members of the association on major decisions reach during general meetings, executives meetings and special meetings as deem appropriate by the executives of the association. 3. The committee shall coordinate and collaborate with the membership committee in marketing the Alumni Association and its drams and visions to graduates, former professors/teachers and past presidents who are not yet member of the association; develop ideas on how to reach out to would-b members through all means of communications, i.e. through social media. 4. Develop and implement programs in educating active members to reach out within their respective states to other alumnus living there to become member of the association. 5. Establishing and actively managing a public relations activities designed to enhance the recognition and promotion of the good and positive images of the AME Zion Alumni Association in the Americas; continue to devise and disseminate educational information of the alumni association as a way of marketing and selling the association to the Zion family and the general public at all times. This body will be known as the “Secretarial and Custodians” for all information records, both hard and software copies of the association. Appointees: 1.
