Sylvia Torres Workshop – Altered Photos Altered Photos February 13th, 2016; 10am-2pm $60 + $5 supply fee Limit 12 students Taking a regular processed photograph, learn how to dramatically change its appearance without a computer or computer skills! You can obliterate backgrounds, create distressed edges, and focus on your subject in a simple and fun process. We will use sanding methods and Golden Fluid Paints in innovating ways to create stand-alone images to frame, or use them later in collage/mixed media pieces. SUPPLY LIST: What I will bring ($5 supply fee) -Handouts -Sand paper/files -Golden Fluid paints for use during class -Medium for use during class -UV liquid and spray for use during class -Nitrile gloves What to bring: -A curious mind -Several 3-8 photos commercially processed as 4x6’s or 5x7’s (example: Costco, Walgreens etc.). **This process does NOT work with Laser or Inkjet printouts -2-3 small inexpensive paint brushes -Roll of paper towels -Xacto knife with #11 blade **Recommended (optional) supplies from Venus: -Golden Fluid Acrylics: Quinacridone Crimson, Anthraquinone Blue, Nickel Azo Yellow, Zinc White, Bone Black, Green Gold and Permanent Violet Dark -9x12 inch Canson Watercolor Pad -Gel Medium (Matte) -4x4 inch cradled wood panels (2-4 each) -Matte UV Spray
