September 1, 2015 “THE ART OF PINK” TRANSFORMS THE PENINSULA BEVERLY HILLS THIS OCTOBER WITH PINK-THEMED ART, DINING AND SPECIAL EVENTS TO SUPPORT THE GLOBAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN Guests will enjoy pink-inspired artwork by Alexandre Renoir, floral decorations, plus a charitable pink art auction, and extra pink-tinted treats and surprises The Peninsula Beverly Hills is again thinking pink for a purpose this October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Marking its fifth anniversary in 2015, the annual Peninsula in Pink campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer charities is undergoing a creative makeover to become “The Art of Pink.” All of the Peninsula hotels worldwide will present a month of pink-infused art, dining and spa experiences for guests to enjoy. In keeping with the global commitment to support innovative public art, The Peninsula Beverly Hills will exhibit pink-inspired artwork by acclaimed artist Alexandre Renoir, great-grandson of French Impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The specially commissioned piece will be auctioned in October, with the proceeds donated to The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ breast cancer charity partner American Cancer Society. The Art of Pink builds on the partnerships The Peninsula Beverly Hills has created with leading art museums, galleries and private collectors to provide guests with privileged access to groundbreaking art by established masters and emerging artists. Following the success of the property’s Academy program featuring a private gallery tour and art lesson with Alexandre Renoir, the famed artist will create a piece exclusive for The Art of Pink. Renoir’s pieces reflect the beauty and charm of the Impressionist period for which his great-grandfather is so well known. His works currently reside in private collections in various cities across the world. Pink is the preferred color at The Peninsula Hotels each October, and to support The Art of Pink initiative, the façade, main entrances and guardian door lions of The Peninsula Beverly Hills will be artfully illuminated in pink each evening from October 1 through 31, 2015. The hotel’s flower arrangements will adopt a rose hue, and guests can enjoy pink-infused gourmet dining and spa experiences, with part of the proceeds donated to American Cancer Society. Another highlight of The Art of Pink month will be a “Pink Tie” Gala Fundraising Event hosted on October 14, 2015 in the property’s signature Pink Suite. This colorful evening of cocktails and canapés will feature a charitable silent auction of The Art of Pink masterpiece by Alexandre Renoir. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Peninsula in Pink campaign, which has raised over USD500,000 for breast cancer charities worldwide. The Peninsula Beverly Hills staff will show their support throughout the month by wearing a specially commissioned pink ribbon pin. About Peninsula in Pink Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women and the second-most common cancer in the world today, accounting for one in 10 of all new cancers diagnosed worldwide, and nearly one in four female cancer cases. With these statistics in mind, The Peninsula Hotels decided to harness its resources and create the Peninsula in Pink charitable initiative. Launched in Hong Kong in 2010, Peninsula in Pink is an annual event at all the Peninsula hotels in Asia, North America and Europe. Each hotel shows its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by creating pink-inspired afternoon teas, cocktails, dining and spa promotions and special events, with part of the proceeds donated to a local breast cancer organization. In 2015, Peninsula in Pink undergoes an artistic makeover, and is retitled The Art of Pink. Each hotel will exhibit pink-themed artworks in partnership with acclaimed artists and galleries. An exclusive pink ribbon pin designed for Breast Cancer Awareness Month will also be worn by all hotel staff, and is available for sale in each hotel. ### About The Peninsula Beverly Hills The only AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star-rated hotel in Southern California for 23 consecutive years, The Peninsula Beverly Hills offers 195 guest rooms, including 38 suites and 17 private villas, nestled among lush tropical gardens in the heart of Beverly Hills.
