Introduction: a. Introduce participants (All) b. Clarify objectives of meeting (ESA): i. Agree on New Work Item Proposal ii. Identify changes to be implemented in this activity iii. Propose workplan 2. Presentation of ECSS, WG responsibilities and drafting rules (ECSS) 3. Discuss of Change Requests (All): a. Energetic Particle Radiation b. Space Debris and Meteoroids c. Plasmas d. Geomagnetic Fields e. Neutral Atmospheres f. EM Radiation g. Gravity h. Contamination 4. Set date and location for next meeting (All) 5. A.O.B. During the presentation on ECSS it was agreed that MM shall request from ECSS Secretariat the installation of a joint work folder for WG members on the ECSS website AI-1 (MM) 16/10/2015 The ECSS presentation also covered the usual timescales for similar ECSS drafting activities. Based on this MM will prepare a schedule as proposal. AI-2 (MM) 16/10/2015 The proposed schedule (AI-2) will be agreed/supplemented by the WG members within two weeks after disclosure AI-3 (WG members) AI-2 + 2 weeks No consensus has been found on CR-E-ST-10-04C_18_2 (Radiation Belt Models AP9 / AE9). It is unclear in which situation it is reasonable to use the newer models rather than the older ones. It was agreed to identity those orbits/missions for which the currently specified radiation belt models (AE8/AP8) are deficient. [It is understood that all parties share their information/knowledge on model/data comparisons]. The resulting list shall be discussed in a dedicated WG meeting (see AI-12). AI-4 (WG members) next WG meeting A document summarizing the proposed approach for SEP modeling will be provided by PJ to the WG. AI-5 (PJ) Feb 2016 An update of the FLUMIC charging model has been requested by CR 18_9. Another ECSS WG is currently drafting an ECSS Charging Handbook which is closely related. The favoured model to supersede FLUMIC is MOBE-DIC. A document summarizing the status of this model will be provided by DR. AI-6 (DR) next WG meeting All editorial CRs (marked ‘MM’ in the table) will be implemented in a change-tracked document by MM for next WG meeting. AI-7 (MM) next WG meeting The agreements reached in the CR discussions (3.) are recorded in the attached excel file. Main actions will be highlighted in the following: Page 2/3 ECSS-E-ST-10-04C WG KO Date 08/10/2015 Ref ESA UNCLASSIFIED - For Official Use Description It was unclear in the CR list what the CR on TID/TNID refers to. MM will check and report at the next meeting. Action AI-8 (MM) Due Date next WG meeting It was proposed to remove Contamination from the document as it is strictly seen not a space environment. The WG had a heterogeneous opinion on this. It was agreed to discuss this with the TA(AR). AI-9 (MM) next WG meeting It was agreed to involve additional parties as Space Debris Office and Flight Dynamics. Identify individuals and find appropriate form of interaction with WG. AI-10 (MM) next WG meeting It was agreed to check the New Work Item Proposal and send a brief statement of agreement or a track-recorded document indicating the desired changes to MM. An agreement in the meeting was not achieved because the WG decided to first assess the actual changes to be implemented in the activity before defining the schedule and possibly NWIP change requests. However, at the end of the meeting day all CRs were discussed but there was insufficient time to translate this into a schedule and adapt the NWIP. AI-11 (all WG members) 30 Oct It was agreed to have a meeting at Airbus DS in Toulouse as soon as possible (expected end of Nov) to agree on CR-E-ST-10-04C_18_2 (Radiation Belt Models AP9/AE9). This meeting is also crucial to agree on a share of activities between WG members. A doodle to identify dates will be set up by MM and populated by the WG members. AI-12 (all WG members) 23 Oct Conclusions: Not all objectives of the meeting were met due to the limited timeframe. All CRs have been discussed and apart CR-E-ST-1004C_18_2 (Radiation Belt Models AP9/AE9) an agreement has been found. The unfulfilled objectives and the next steps which are necessary to start the actual drafting activity shall be resolved in a meeting as soon as possible (envisaged: Nov 2015).
