Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer for Palo Alto, CA
Responsibilities
•Development of next generation mechanical systems.
•Develop product specifications that meet functional requirements.
•Help oversee development projects and project team members.
•Critically review engineering designs.
•Ensure adherence to company design and development guidelines and SOPs.
•Work in an exciting, fast-paced environment to help design products, automation systems, and devices
which are the core of Theranos' technology.
•Setting goals/deadlines and adhering to them, holding teams accountable for meeting deadlines to
drive results.
•Familiarity with complex assembly, and working with production engineers and manufacturing
engineers to develop SOPs.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related fields from a top tier
university and superior academic credentials.
•7+ years of experience in industrial environment.
•Strong electro-mechanical experience desired.
•Experience managing teams directly is a must.
•Project management skills are highly desired.
•Experience with large scale automation or highly complex type of products.
•Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience in complex computer/software programming.
•Excellent command of CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent).
•Experience in GD&T.
•Machine shop experience/ familiarity is a strong plus.
•Ability to function in a multi-disciplined team environment.
•Ability to perform experiments autonomously.
•Desire to use skills and knowledge to problem-solve outside of comfort-zone and learn on-the-fly when
necessary.

Clinical Laboratory Scientist for Palo Alto, CA
Responsibilities
•Under the direction of Technical and General Supervisors and in accordance with standards established
in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), perform laboratory procedures across a
broad range of assays.
•Process specimens, conduct testing, and report test results with constant attention to detail and
excellence in quality.
•Operate laboratory instruments and equipment. Trouble shoot and problem solve with laboratory
instrumentation and assay systems as needed.
•Monitor and perform preventative maintenance as required for machine performance.
•Keep meticulous and organized records of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses.
•Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either
correct the problems or immediately notify supervisors.
•Conduct and document appropriate quality control and assurance procedures. Assist with quality
assurance and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or related field from a top tier scientific university and
superior academic credentials.
•Current California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
•Ability to responsibly follow laboratory protocols and processes autonomously, consulting with
supervisor when needed.
•Knowledge of basic clinical laboratory skills. Ability to operate clinical analyzers and instrumentation.
•Proven track record of producing accurate results and maintaining excellence in quality in a dynamic
work environment.
•Ability to work with self-discipline, good judgment, and independence.
•Technical excellence and attention to quality and detail.
•Ability to effectively present information both one-on-one and in small group situations.

Laboratory General Supervisor for Palo Alto, CA
Responsibilities
•Develop a nationally recognized CLIA reference laboratory.
•Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies, including timely submission of
proficiency testing.
•Monitor patient testing and specimen acceptability to ensure accurate analytic performance.
•Provide orientation and training to all testing personnel.
•Management of accessioning, test performance and critical analysis of patient results reporting in
collaboration with the laboratory director.
•Coordinate send-out testing to reference laboratories.
•Achieve greatest level of test accuracy, timeliness and medical value for a growing patient base.
•Work with R&D to validate clinical diagnostic instrumentation.
•Manage successful introduction of new tests to laboratory, and maintain existing procedures, following
NCCLS guidelines for SOPs.
•Oversee customer satisfaction and implement procedures for resolving complaints.
•Ensure competency of all testing personnel and high levels of team productivity and collegiality.
•Work with Technical Supervisor and Lab Director to develop laboratory budget to ensure efficient use
of resources.
•Understand and implement OSHA and CLIA requirements.
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited
institution.
•Graduation from accredited CLS program
•Hold a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the State of California
•At least two years of experience in high complexity testing, with proven track record of exceeding
quality expectations.
•Experience working with a broad array of assays including Clinical Chemistry,
•Desire to be part of a fast-paced, rapidly growing start-up company.
•Hematology, Microbiology, and Molecular Diagnostics.
•Experience managing clinical laboratory personnel.
•Experience managing new laboratories, or sections of laboratories, consistent with best practices and
lean/six-sigma principles is highly desirable.
•Strong knowledge and experience with public health laboratory laws and regulations.
•Proven ability to help scale clinical laboratories in a dynamic environment while maintaining excellence
in •performance at every level.
