Dates
The holidays are here. At RIS we always look to
strike a balance between holiday cheer and the
hard work we must do over the course of the next
few weeks. I wish everyone a wonderful
Thanksgiving and safe travel if you are going out of
town.
Things get busy at the Holidays
Thanksgiving Recess:
November 27-29
Looking below at the list of concerts and PTC events
over the course of the next few weeks is dizzying. If you
need clarification on any PTC event please call me at
school. If it is a music concert, please call your child’s
chorus, orchestra, band or handbells instructor ASAP.
-Please note 11/26 is
a full day of school.
December Recess:
December 23-January 1
-Children return to
school on 1/2/14.
-The children are given written notices as well by their
music instructors.

GeoBee and Spelling Bee
Helpful Reminders
During December, I will be running two days of PreGeoBee tests during recess. The GeoBee is open to any
student in Grade 4-6. The actual GeoBee will be
1/15/14. Spelling Bee trials will be in January and the
actual Spelling Bee will be in early February.
-A reminder to students who
are dropped off at school or
are walkers. Please do not
arrive at school prior to
7:50am.
Parking at RIS
Please note the new signs at RIS. Visitor parking will be
in the Church Street circle in collaboration with the
buzzer to the left of the Church Street door. The front
doors of RIS will remain locked after 8:30am.
We have had a few issues
with RIS students not
behaving well in the lobby
of RMS and in front of RMS.
