Come learn about honeybees on the farm and their very important role in the growing operations of the farm. We will visit the Terrace Garden, Vegetable Field, Greenhouse, and Apiary, and meet with the Stone Barns Center Beekeeper. Although there is not an organized lunch for our group, the Blue Hill casual Café will be open to purchase lunch following the tour. The mission of Stone Barns Center is to create a healthy and sustainable food system that benefits us all. Using organic, resilient and regenerative farming practices, Stone Barns Center grows good food in season for our community and their partner restaurant, Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The Center is also a laboratory, hosting experiments that demonstrate better ways to farm and eat in harmony with nature and help beginning farmers succeed. They educate children about the sources of their food, and prepare them to steward the land that provides it. Please note that this “walking tour” of the Farm will take place rain or shine. As such, participants should dress comfortably and appropriately. Questions? Need to carpool? Please contact: rachelhweiss@gmail.com As spots are LIMITED – reserve TODAY!
