Meanings/Definitions
1. Low pressure – warm temperatures, storms, rain, humid, cloudy.
2. High pressure – cooler temperatures, clear skies, basically a really nice day.

Population – all of the inhabitants (animals or humans) living in a specific area.
Species – a class or group of individuals or animals having common (similar) attributes (traits).
Genetics – the science of heredity (what makes us look similar to our parents).
Resemble – to exhibit similarity or likeness (same)
Offspring – a child in relation to their parent (you to your mother or father).
Species – a group of living things that all have the same characteristics.
Traits – features that gives a person or animal uniqueness. It can be used to describe physical
characteristics.
10. Heredity – the passing of traits from parents to children.
11. Inherited traits – a characteristic that a living thing gets from its parent. (born with brown eyes,
rolling your tongue, the color of your skin)
12. Learned traits – a skill a living thing develops after it is born. (learning how to read, Riding a bike,
playing soccer)
