Artiste’s statement:- Passionate about sculpture, my work has taken me as far afield as
Brazil on my quest for evolution of my work and to experience my chosen medium in its
entirely. I am an ardent believer in direct carving, experimenting with the subtleties and
juxtaposition of form and line created instinctively. My carvings are expressed in both
the figurative and the abstract genres, I often expand the dimension the works using
humor and provocation of my audiences.

day.
He has travelled extensively in Europe, Africa, China and Asia where he researched the
final touches and details of his current series of monumental works. He eventually settled
in an artisan village in South India where his chosen medium, black granite, was in
abundance.
Currently on the 3rd and 4th in the series, ‘The form of Nature’, he is developing works
concurrently in his Swiss and Indian studios. The 12th and final work would be completed
in 2018 ready for exhibition across Europe.
Demian is being sponsored by the city of Fribourg and is a director of the Res
Foundations Stone Studio which has partner studios all over the world devoted to all
aspects of creation with stone. His works can be found on exhibition and in private

Artiste’s statement :
My work experiments with the possibilities of the natural worlds harmonies and
confrontations with the man made form. My carvings focus on pure line and dynamic
