Qualification
There are no compulsory qualifying scores needed. The national selectors will select 43 combinations
who they consider will best represent NZL in this competition at each level. (Forty riders and three
reserves will be selected)
 Riders will be requested to list their three best scores (as a combination) at national & regional
events from 1st October 2014 on their nomination form, These scores are as a guideline only for
selectors and are not compulsory qualifying scores. In addition riders may include up to three LE
scores gained from 1/4/15 but only in addition to RE and Nat scores.
 If riders do not have qualifying scores as above they may still nominate
 It is recognised that the NZL grading system does not equate with the levels offered at the WDC
and some riders may wish to nominate at the WDC at a higher level than they competed last
year. Final selection at absolute discretion of the national selectors

An important aspect of this international development competition is the Rider Clinics with International Judges. Sunday
Please see the rules regarding who MUST attend. Times for Competitors Lesson times / rider video session times will be
posted on as soon as possible. Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated as this day is a very important part of
your participation in the FEI World Dressage Challenge. All supporters, trainers, judges are welcome. RIDERS ARE
EXPECTED TO WATCH AS MANY OF THE LESSONS AS POSSIBLE – THE EDUCATION COMPONENT OF THE WORLD
DRESSAGE CHALLENGE IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF YOUR PARTICIPATION. IF YOU HAVE NOT QUALIFIED FOR A
LESSON, THEN YOU SHOULD STILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
GUIDELINES FOR “BEST PRESENTATION AWARD” DURING HORSE INSPECTION
In order to have the same standard when judging the Best Presented Horse at the Veterinary inspection,
the Judges and Veterinarians must follow the guidelines given below:
1.
Is the horse well groomed?
2.
Is the horse in good physical condition?
3.
Does the horse stand still during the visual inspection?
4.
Is the shoeing of the horse in order?
5.
Has the horse been well trained to walk and trot on a loose rein?
6.
Is the handler making the turn clockwise?
7.
Is the handler not trying to shorten the trot by walking an extended distance?
8.
Is the horse not creating any behavioral problems in the waiting area?
9.
If passport required, has the passport been approved by the official vet.?
(An FEI passport is not required for FEI World Dressage Challenge competitions).
All horses must be properly registered and identifiable by diagrams.

Selected riders will be notified by email and will have 48hrs to accept selection by return email or
place will be allocated to next reserve combination
Withdrawals after selection will incur a $30 non refundable nomination fee with vet or Dr Certificate
or $50 without. Stabling, equine levy, rider medical & catering refunded in full, BUT only with
official withdrawal form .
