COURSE STRUCTURE - ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT The Associate in Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management is offered as a 2+2 programme. Successful completion of 2 years leads to the award of the Associate degree at which time candidates may opt to go on to complete the 4 year Bachelor degree within another 2 years. Students may take up to 5 years to complete the Associate degree. The Associate in Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management comprises general education and specialised courses as well as a single elective (outside of the specialisation and at Associate degree level), internship/work experience (240 hours) and community service (30 hours). Persons with substantial relevant work experience may apply for reduction/exemption of the internship. Students who work, but not in the relevant area of study, can have the number of hours reduced to 180. A work experience portfolio may be required to substantiate the exemption request. A total of 84 credits are required for successful completion of the Associate in Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management. The specialisation consists of 18 credits which along with the elective are completed in year 2 of the degree. Internships may be spread out over both years or concentrated in the final year. Additionally, 2 not for credit courses; Team Anguilla Certification and First Aid Certification are requirements for successful completion of the programme. A total of 4 or 6 semesters is required to complete the programme in Full Time or Part Time mode respectively. In Part Time mode, utilisation of summers allows completion within 2 academic years.
