King Hamad Hospital is a university hospital, located in Muharraq- Kingdom of Bahrain, with a
capacity of 311 beds and 1952 employees. This medical facility is a one hundred and twenty

Detailed Job Descriptions
 Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework for nursing with
emphasis on the specific needs of patients in NICU and their families.
 Assess the neonate’s care needs and plan, implement and evaluate programs of care that
reflect the needs of patients and their families.
 Undertake nursing interventions based on best available evidence.
 Take appropriate action in relation to all emergencies and control of infection issues within
sphere of responsibilities.
 Take immediate and appropriate action in relation to adverse incident reporting utilizing the
hospital incident reporting system and report same according to hospital policies.
 Undertake other clinical activities as designated by the Ward Manager or their designee.
 Act as a role model and assist in providing professional support to junior colleagues,
learners and non-registered clinical support staff within the nursing environment.
 Develop effective communications between all members of staff, and the families of the
neonates.
