The following English tests are accepted:
IELTS (7.0 or higher), (current) TOEFL (iBT100 or higher), CAE ("A", “B”), BEC Higher ( "A", "B")
or CPE ("A", "B", "C")
Bachelor Degree totally taught in English (only if issued in an English-speaking country or from a CEMS
member university or an EQUIS/AACSB accredited university).

CEMS Language 2: (proof to be attached to this declaration form). CEMS Language 2 can either be
mother tongue or, in case of native English speakers, B2 level in one of the following CEMS languages:

CEMS Language 3: the CEMS Language 3 does not require a pre-defined level of skills and will be
studied during the MSc International Management/CEMS. CEMS Language 3 can be any language but the
choice of Language 3 maybe limited due to course offers.
The CEMS Office of the University of Cologne provides a list of language courses offered by official
Cultural Institutes such as Institut Français, Istituto di Cultura Italiana, Japan Foundation. All courses
are subject to fees.
Recommendation for non-German speaking students:
For non-German speaking students we strongly recommend to take German as CEMS Language 2 or 3.
The University of Cologne offers German language courses at all levels. Please be aware that the
German Courses for regular degree-seeking students are subject to fees.
