After suffering several months of heart trouble, Joseph Heberle breathed his last Sunday morning at 4 o'clock.
He was born in Horb Am Neckar, Wurttenberg, Germany in 1854, came to America in 1871.
In March 1885 he came to Princeton from Noblesville, Indiana, and opened up a bakery and confectionery. He soon built
up a fine business and in doing so gained the esteem and friendships of all he came in contact with. He was a musician of
much ability and was a great admirer of vocal music. It was through his efforts that the Choral Union was organized. Under
his direction they gave many entertainments. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge No. 82 of
this city. He served in the Franco-Prussian War and bore an affliction caused by a wound received while in the service. He
loved to talk of war experience. As soon as he left the hospital he got his dismissal and sailed for America.
Shortly after coming to Princeton he was joined by his sister, Miss Lena, who came directly from Germany. She and one
cousin, who lives in New York are the only relatives he had in America. There are brothers and sisters left in Germany.
