ASSOCIATE ADMINISTRATOR, COMMUNICATIONS JOB CODE: WORKING TITLE: APPROVED BY: CREATED DATE: REVISED DATE: EXEMPTION STATUS: OCTOBER 2012 EXEMPT POSITION SUMMARY The Associate Administrator of Communications contributes to the overall development and continuation of the Mission and Vision by providing leadership in the area of CHPG communications. This individual will oversee all communications for employees, physicians, midlevel providers and executive leadership to ensure consistency in the CHPG message. This individual will ensure valuable information critical to the success of our business is being shared and executed through the appropriate communications channels. The individual also participates in the execution of strategic initiatives across all clinic sites at the direction of CHPG leadership. The Associate Administrator of Communications will represent CHPG within the organization as well as in the community and must serve as a role model for the promotion of positive, ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of Centura Health. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in business or communication field is required, Master Degree preferred (any equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered). WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 5 years experience in the areas of business operations and/or communications and marketing is required. (any equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered). Physician practice management experience preferred. Strong knowledge/application of systems framework, excellent strategic thinking skills, demonstrated resource, management, and stewardship skills, strong team orientation, good understanding of total quality management concepts, strong customer focus, demonstrated ability to lead/implement change activities, demonstrated skills in influencing through relationships, excellent analytical thinking skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS POSITION DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDE % OF TIME) 1. Devise fiscal year communications strategies for physicians and employees that support the strategic priorities of Centura Health and CHPG. Develop and coordinate long and short-term strategic communications plans and programs to support corporate strategy, change management, drive internal initiatives, build internal culture and demonstrate organizational results. 2. Accountable for developing and implementing all communications tools to be used by executive leadership, physicians, employees, and for the community. These tools may include but are not limited to the CHPG Newsletter, CHPG All Provider Meetings, CHPG internal web site, executive leadership site visits, town hall meetings, and executive memoranda. It is key for this individual to think outside the box and innovate new ways to communicate with employees and physicians in non-traditional ways. 3. Partners with CHPG Executive Leadership to devise communication strategies around key clinic initiatives. 4. Purposefully rounds based on an established schedule at clinic sites with CHPG physicians and employees to ensure CHPG-wide messages are being received accurately and to identify opportunities for improved communication and follow-up. 5. Responsible for enhancing CHPG’s market presence by identifying channels for key leaders’ and physicians’ participation. These channels may include CHPG participation and/or sponsorship in community events, speaking engagements, and media stories. 6. In concert with the President/CEO, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Administrative executives, aids in the development of the CHPG Operational Plan that prioritizes the deployment of resources to bring integrated solutions to operational issues. Assists in the direction of activities of the clinic. Involved in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, as needed. 8. Monitors literature and journals to identify new business opportunities. Works with other members of clinic management to collaboratively determine feasibility of individual opportunities and initiatives. 9. Collaborate with Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Relations to ensure coordination of messaging, alignment of strategic priorities, fulfillment of our shared Mission and Vision and protect and promote the Centura Health and CHPG brand. 10. Identifying opportunities to promote CHPG physicians and leaders in the community and to our internal audiences. Organize clinic ground breaking and ribbon cutting ceremonies, physician relationship building events, press conferences and internal events. Work closely with the Marketing Department to support their efforts with product/service launches, promote sponsored events, develop a strong community presence and maintain the brand focus in all communications, both internally and externally. 11. Conduct research to measure the success of our communications efforts and utilize the data collected to develop strategies for ongoing improvement of our communications efforts to improve physicians and employee engagement. 12. Demonstrates work practices consistent with Centura Health and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies. 13. Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable JCAHO, federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards. 14.
