Job Title: Marketing Photography Assistant
Location: Falmouth, Cornwall
Reporting To: Photography Coordinator
Working within the Marketing team and reporting to the Photography Coordinator and
Marketing Director, the Marketing Photography Assistant will have an eye for style and a can-do attitude. The primary function of the role is to assist with aspects of the photography critical path and help to provide the Marketing team with beautiful imagery ready to use across the marketing mix - including product photography, studio photography and lifestyle photoshoots.
With hands on experience in a busy photo-studio, arranging and coordinating shoots, booking models, preparing samples and ensuring everything runs smoothly day-to-day. The role requires someone who can turn their hand to (almost) anything and is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in!
Sample preparation, management and admin
Managing the Marketing sample set – ensuring all products are labelled, kept tidy, logged and accounted for.
Manage sample comments provided by other teams, to ensure the correct sample is shot and conveyed perfectly in all marketing material.
Steaming samples, hanging samples, styling samples for the photographer, detagging and re-tagging, putting samples in to a logical order to be shot.
Keeping track of samples that have been borrowed.
Keeping the studio and samples tidy with a daily check.
At the end of each season, ensure samples sent back to relevant departments.
Adhere to the Photo Critical Path to prioritise and plan products for photo shoots.
Provide images to all channels and department on schedule and within budget.
Planning photoshoots
Preparing for every eventuality on a shoot!
Proposing ideas/inspiration/mood boards for shoots – product, lifestyle, and video.
Prop research and making.
Preparing people and places well in advance of shoot – booking models, photography team, accommodation, travel, food, back drops, props, outfits picked out, steaming, sample comments, etc.
Ensure all shot sheets are correct and in order ready for use.
Referencing outfit guides and lookbooks for brand consistency. Follow the Seasalt photography guide to ensure product shots are consistent on the website.
Liaising with partners and friends of Seasalt in regards to photoshoots.
Carrying out initial recces for lifestyle shoots and delivering a report on return.
Interpreting the appropriateness of locations /studios/ models is important.
Assist in planning model castings, delivering briefs to agencies and attending castings in London etc.
During shoots
Styling and tidying the garments on mannequins and models, ensuring all look correct on camera and are consistent to previous images taken.
Ensuring all products are represented correctly across all formats and media – colour, fit, shape, drape etc.
Keeping team happy and efficient throughout the day whilst on shoots.
Drive own vehicle and Seasalt van as required.
Early starts and late pack downs after shoots. Ensuring all samples are returned and tidy, ready for following day.
Contributing to social media with regards to behind the scenes images and video clips.
Image management
Acquire high-resolution photos from photographers and ensure images are backed up onto the server at the end of the day.
Ensure images are logged and named correctly and quickly after each shoot. The images need to be easily locatable by many teams and referenced accordingly.
Responsible for maintaining and archiving all imagery relating to all shoots.
Ensuring the seasonal spread sheets are kept up to date, communicating issues with relevant departments.
Crop and save out images for web. Ensure images are ready for the online team ahead of deadlines.
Frequent checks online to make sure all are product images are correct and don’t need updating or replacing.
General tasks
Assist Marketing department with answering calls, filing, and general admin as and when required.
Adhere to the Photoshoot Critical Path at all times.
Keeping the photo studio tidy at all times- deep cleans are good in quieter periods.
Establish a high level of communication with photographers and other suppliers.
Ensure daily queries and e-mails are answered efficiently.
Establish and maintain close relations with all other departments.
Responsible for raising and issuing relevant Purchase Orders
