Ancient History Wax Museum
Dear Parents,
Arrows Academy excited to announce a fun learning experience our students will be taking part
in. Your child will soon be choosing a person from ancient history to learn more about.
The Wax Museum will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 8:30 AM and will consist of the
following:
1. Poster: Students will need to create a poster with important facts, information, and
pictures about their person on a tri-fold. The poster needs to be neat, creative,
colorful, and have pictures that depict this person ’s life. See the website for samples.
2. The Wax Museum: Students will need to come dressed as their person. Props are a nice
touch. They will also need to create a button to put on a table. When this is pushed,
they will come to “life” telling about their person. They should memorize their 10 facts,
starting with “Hello, my name is ...”
3. Research Report: Students will be required to submit a Five paragraph biography report
on their chosen person. We will utilize our IEW Lessons 14-19 as a guideline. There will
be no additional IEW homework during these weeks.
4. In Class Presentations: So all the students can see and learn from their classmates, the
students will present their person in an in class presentation on Tuesday, October 29. A
good presentation will consist of good expression, eye contact, and memorization of the
10 facts.
5. A rubric will be used to give two grades for this project. One grade will be for IEW only
and will utilize the Rubric on Page 124 in their book. The other Rubric will consist of
completion of each stage on time as well as the content of the Presentation and poster.
A more detailed rubric for the Presentation and Poster portions is listed on the Arrows
website.
Arrows Academy looks forward to this fun event and we know it will be a great learning
experience for our students! Let me know if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Owens
