Dear Parents,
Our annual grade 5 trip to Queen’s Park is fast approaching! The past six years
have been very successful and very exciting. We go on a tour of Queen’s Park, see
the legislature, learn about the building and sometimes meet some MPP or even the
Premier! As part of our Conservation of Energy Unit in science (although later in
the year) we are taking the GO Train and Subway. As well, we will be visiting the
CN Tower for a fun look at Toronto from high above the city!
Our tour at Queen’s Park runs from 9:30 – 11:00 am on Thursday, December 3rd
2015. This means that we need to get on the 8:08 am GO train at the Aldershot
station. All students will meet at BCA at 7:30 am sharp, and then we will leave BCA
by 7:45 am by parent drivers and go directly to the Aldershot station. We will
return on the 1:43 pm train from Union Station and will arrive at Aldershot at 2:50
pm which will bring us back to BCA for normal dismissal time.
Students may bring a bag lunch or a few dollars to purchase food at Union Station.
The CN Tower does have a gift shop that is always popular with students! Money
can be brought for this, too.
All parents who are interested are welcome to come! I hope we have three parent
volunteers that can take a small group of students for the day. Parents who help
in supervision will receive 8 hours towards volunteering commitment. Supervising
parents will be selected on a first come basis until the positions have been filled.
Other parents are welcome to come yet will not receive volunteer hours since they
will not be assisting in supervision.
I will attach this permission form to the Grade 5 Wiki page as well as giving each
student a hard copy. Please fill out the form at your earliest convenience.

11:10 pm – Subway to Union Station and lunch at Union Station.
11:45 am – Tour of CN Tower
1:15 pm – GO train to Aldershot Station
2:50 pm – Arrive back at Aldershot and drive back to BCA for dismissal
