(DRAFT) Important InfoSnap and August 4 Registration Day Advisory
Colleagues,
Thank you so much for your hard work this summer in preparation for an excellent school year. This
memo is in regards to the upcoming registration period of July 20-July 31 and Registration Day on
August 4th. The following information is an advisory on InfoSnap about which I know you have had many
questions. I thank you for your patience as we are working closely with Attendance and Discipline to
walk through some of the start-up issues. Please review the notice below to assist with any questions
you have, and again I appreciate your patience and dedication.

Only SCS Returning students from the 2014-2015 School year will be able to register as a
Returning Student and receive an InfoSnap Code.
Students who were SCS Returning students and did not have a Snapcode will need to register as
a “New” Student.
Schools should verify in EIS, as to whether they are new students.
All “New” Students to the district will also register as a “New” Student.
More guidance will be sent on the issue of returning students and new students.
Snapcode assistance will be available on a limited basis. The bulk of these requests should be
handled at the school level.
Please approve your students registration. Do Not allow it to pile up.
Onsite Registration and Registration Day, August 4
Satellite On-Line Registration Centers- During the week of July 20-July 24, one satellite center will
remain open along with all of the school sites. The Northwest Regional Office will be the only non-school
On-Line Registration Center for ESL parents and students.
School Registration- Beginning the week of July 20-August 4. Schools will continue the online
registration process via InfoSnap. Parents who have not registered will have the opportunity to register
their students at the school site.
August 4 Registration and Enrollment Completion- Parents who need to verify (couldn't upload) the
following information: Residency, Immunization(K, 7th and New Students), Transportation, Nutrition
Services and Federal Program/Title 1 Requirements, transcript requests, summer school grades, and
home room assignments will need to report to their child’s school on August 4. Not all parents will
need to report to the school, but it is highly recommended if they were not able to successfully upload
documents (i.e. immunization documents, 2 proofs of Residency or have a Shared Residency situation),
they should report to their child’s school to complete the enrollment requirements.
For returning
parents with no changes, it is their choice to go to the school to complete the enrollment. Also, a
district phone blast will also be sent out for the following reasons:




to remind parents about the online registration
to make parent aware of the reasons why they may need to report to the school
to inform parents they are not finished with the registration process until they receive the final
confirming email from the school site.
to inform parents about the cost of making copies of Birth Certificates/Death Certificates for
students in Shelby County at the Shelby County Health Department. The new prices are $15.00
per copy whether new or additional copies.
WebQuery will be up and running on July 22. Bus passes will be ready for distribution on August 4. For
other enrollment items such as Transportation, (SCS), contact Stephen Wherry in Transportation for
more information regarding SCS and MATA. Drop-off and Dismissal Procedures should also be available
to parents at the school.
