PRESS RELEASE NEUTRAL FUELS AND PETRO INDUSTRIAL IN GLOBAL AGREEMENT TO OFFER BUNDLED BIODIESEL OPTIONS 2 April 2014 – Melbourne – Neutral Fuels, which has proven the success of biodiesel-from-waste-oil in its initial rollout of biorefineries for McDonald’s APMEA, has signed a global agreement with Petro Industrial to offer customers a bundled solution that comprises biodiesel plus tank, sited on the customer’s premises. A full maintenance package will also be available. Biodiesel options are B20, which is a blend of 20% pure biodiesel and 80% fossil diesel, and B100, which is 100% pure biodiesel. Petro Industrial already supplies its steel dispensing tanks and pumping equipment to Neutral Fuels customers Del Monte, Coca Cola and others in Dubai and Melbourne. Karl Feilder, Chairman and CEO of Neutral Fuels, said two interesting circumstances were converging right now that made biodiesel increasingly attractive to operators of vehicle fleets. “While the petrochemical industry is going through austerity drives, profit warnings and looming price hikes, the big vehicle manufacturers have started offering warranties on brand new vehicles that use B20. Biodiesel is still the only renewable transport fuel option that can be commercially deployed today.” Feilder said that while there were many excellent reasons to use biodiesel, the most compelling would always be financial. “Biodiesel isn’t at the mercy of nature and massive cartels as petrochemicals are. Biodiesel is not just about cleaning up the environment. It offers predictable and stable pricing unheard of in the petrochemical industry, plus operating cost reductions through extended engine life and reduced maintenance.” While B100 reduces carbon footprint by 80% on a lifecycle basis, Neutral Fuels sees B20 as a way for fleet managers to test the viability of biodiesel for themselves, starting slowly and building up to 100% biodiesel (B100). “Having your own tank is a great option for companies that run small to mid-sized vehicle fleets,” said Feilder. Paul Morgan, co-founder of Petro Industrial, said the two companies had agreed to work together to commercialise their knowledge and understanding of city scale biodiesel production equipment. “We make the equipment, Neutral Fuels uses it. With our combined experience we should be able to optimise biorefinery construction and processes.” Petro Industrial’s tanks come in a range of capacities and various set-ups will be available to rent or buy with a choice of dispensing options. On a lifecycle basis, biodiesel produces approximately 80% less carbon dioxide, one of the major contributors to climate change, and is the only renewable transport fuel option that can be commercially deployed today. Neutral Fuels is a member of The Neutral Group, the international cleantech organization founded in 2006 to build sustainability strategies for the logistics, energy and hospitality industries and to execute significant reductions in energy spend and CO2 emissions. Neutral Fuels is headquartered in Dubai for easy access to the APMEA region, with offices in Australia, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. CEO and founder, Karl W Feilder, won the Asian Sustainability Leadership Award in September 2012 and was awarded Innovator of the Year 2011 by LOG Magazine for his work in pioneering energy and carbon savings in the Middle East.
