IV. Update on 2015 Pre-Conference Workshop on Measurement of Well-Being
The RCMAR coordinating center website has current conference agenda
(http://www.rcmar.ucla.edu/gsa15/schedule.php)
a. Reference list for workshop: Each speaker has been asked to send a
resource list to Porsche.
b. Incorporation of minority issues into workshop: There was discussion as to
whether any time could be cut from one or more speakers to add material about
minority issues (specifically, Rob Weech-Maldonado presenting on Black-White
differences in happiness). We decided to add his talk following Jacqui Smith’s
and shorten the “Measurement Equivalence” section by 15 minutes.
c. Panel Discussion: We discussed who would be asked to serve on the
panel. It was decided to invite Arthur Stone, Arie Kapteyn, and James
Jackson, although other speakers would be in the audience and available
to provide input. The title of this section will be modified so that it
indicates more opportunity for the attendees to participate in the
discussion.
d. Manuscript(s) from workshop: Ron reminded us that it would be
desirable if one or more papers could come from the workshop. We will
try to set up a separate call for workshop speakers to discuss
manuscripts in September (as part of coordinating speaker topics).

V. RCMAR Coordinating Center website – Analysis Core webpages
a. Needs for the Coordinating Center’s Analysis Core webpages
We discussed what Steve Wallace needs for the coordinating center analysis
core’s landing page to help drive traffic to individual RCMAR site measurement
core web pages. He will send each measurement core director the currently
planned text and ask for updates prior to September. Steve Wallace will then
ask the web developer to prioritize the Analysis Core pages development so that
on the August call we can do some joint work on its content.
b. Review Ethnic Identity References
We discussed how we would update this document. Mignon will talk with Chandra
Ford and Steve Wallace to develop a strategy for how to categorize the subject
matter, and then update the areas that are most pertinent. As part of the
update, we want to ensure that each reference has sufficient annotation so that
a web page reader can understand the take home messages.
