JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Intermediate to Senior Environmental Scientist Location: Kindersley, SK Employment Type: Full-Time Closing Date: May 31, 2013 Grassland Environmental Inc. is an environmental consulting firm based in Kindersley, Saskatchewan with offices in strategic locations throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. We offer technical expertise in a range of environmental consulting services to solve our clients’ environmental and regulatory requirements. The current environmental services offered to our clients include: planning, regulatory compliance, environmental monitoring, drilling waste management, environmental site assessments, remediation, and reclamation. Position Summary Grassland Environmental Inc. is currently seeking an intermediate to senior level environmental scientist for our Kindersley office. This role would provide support to senior environmental staff and contribute to further growth in the company. Key responsibilities of the position would include, but not be limited to the following: project management and coordination; mentor and train junior/intermediate environmental staff; develop work plans and budgets; coordination and execution of field programs for a variety of projects, including site assessments, remediation, and reclamation; allocation and supervision of junior/intermediate environmental staff for the completion of projects; preparation and review of technical reports associated with site assessment projects, regulatory approvals, and/or compliance requirements; and, establish and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory agencies. Qualifications University degree in environmental science, biology, geography, soil science, or a related discipline. Three to eight years of relevant environmental project experience, preferably encompassing fieldwork (including groundwater and soil sampling, biophysical assessments, remediation, and/or reclamation) and report preparation. Registered Professional or eligible for professional registration in a relevant field. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and time management skills. Supervisory and/or project management experience. Ability to work independently and succeed in a team based environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of provincial and federal regulations as well as environmental assessment and regulatory process.
