STUDENT SUPPORT CENTER
STUDENT/PARENT/GUARDIAN CONTRACT
The Student Support Center (SSC) is the Discipline Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for students enrolled in the Corpus Christi
Independent School District (CCISD) who have been removed from the regular school setting for violating the District’s Student Code
of Conduct (SCC)as outlined in the District’s Board Policy. The SSC Program is designed to teach students appropriate and/or
alternative behaviors while also addressing their academic needs. Respect towards teachers, staff, and other students is a nonnegotiable expectation and is key to a student's successful completion of the program. We succeed, when you do!
Supplies needed:
 1 inch three-ring binder/portfolio with see-through front pocket (white binder-MS; gray or black–HS)
 8-tab binder divider set
 200 sheets of notebook paper
 One dozen #2 pencils
A complete set of supplies listed above may be purchased for $5.00 during orientation (cash only).
Students will pick up Binder/Portfolio in cafeteria during breakfast and carry it to all classes. Students return portfolios to same
location in cafeteria as they are released at the end of the instructional day.
FIRST DAYS AT SSC
DAY 1:
8 am - 10 am: Enrollment and Orientation: Student and Parent/Guardian attend session with Principal/Assistant Principal
10:00 - 10:45am: Search, Dress Code compliance and Breakfast
10:45 - 1:00pm : Bridge class - extensive review of rules, procedures and expectations.
12:20 -12:50 pm: Lunch
2:00pm - 4pm: Bridge Class
DAY 2: Search, Bridge class - Students must successfully complete all bridge assignments in order to be released to regular
classes.
DAY 3 and on: Search; breakfast in cafeteria, pick up portfolio from designated location in cafeteria, release to regular schedule.
Students will carry Portfolios to all classes and return them to the cafeteria as they are released at the end of the instructional day.
ON-TIMEARRIVAL PROCEDURES
School begins at 9:00 am.
All students must enter or dropped off by parents through the West Gate located next to Boat Net/Covered basketball court. This
entrance opens at 8:50 am and closes promptly at 9:15am.
1. Bus - students outside the 2 mile radius of school must arrive/depart on the school bus - West Gate.
2. Walk - students within the 2 mile radius of school will arrive through West Gate from 8:50 to 9:15am..
3. Students may not drive a car and/or park on school property. Towing will be enforced.
At the time of enrollment, parent/guardian will choose the method of transportation. Per district transportation policy, students may
not change mode or route of transportation without PRIOR written parental/guardian consent through the registrar's office.
Loitering (hanging out) BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL on campus, drop or in the drop off area of the West Gate will not be
allowed. For example, students may not gather or stand around in parking lot area to consume breakfast items, beverages or snacks.
No food and/or beverages are allowed to be brought on campus.
TARDY ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Entrance for students arriving after 9:20 is through the front office located directly off Greenwood St. After 9:15 am students are
considered ABSENT. Late students must report to Truancy Officer Mr. Rodriguez for search and tardy permit. Tardiness will be
documented as partial-day absence and reported to the courts as required by state law. Students with excessive partial absences
may also be assigned additional consequences as deemed appropriate by campus administration.
SEARCH PROCEDURES
All students are required to go through search upon arrival to campus regardless of arrival time. Failure to go through search
may result in assignment to ISS and/or OSS (repeated offenses).
1. Students will be searched for prohibited items by campus security officer. Students hiding prohibited items on their person
may be subject to additional administrative action.
2. Shoes and socks are thoroughly checked for prohibited items.
3. Administrator checks for dress code compliance then releases student to cafeteria for breakfast and to pick up portfolio.
PERSONAL ITEMS NOT ALLOWED ON CAMPUS
With the exception of a single house key on a key ring, personal items of any kind are not allowed. Items brought to school will be
confiscated by staff/administration. Caps, hats, bandannas, sunglasses, fake glasses, wallets, purses, I-pods, cell phones, backpacks,
make-up bags, change of clothing, sports equipment, extra shoes, hygiene items, perfume, cologne, toothpaste, tooth brush, combs,
picks, brushes, cameras, lanyards, key chains, mirrors, map colors, drawing materials, sharpie markers, jewelry, excess cash, rosaries,
headphones, ear buds, electronics or any other items not listed here are not allowed. SSC is not responsible for any items brought to
school.
District policy: Electronic devices, such as cell phones or I-pods, will be confiscated and a $15 fee payable by parent/guardian will
be assessed. Device will be released to parent/guardian only upon payment of $15 fee.
Students may not bring more than $3 to school. Amounts in excess of $3-25 will be confiscated and returned to parent/guardian.
Amounts in excess of $25 will be reported to the CCISD Police. SSC is not responsible for any cash brought to school.

inappropriate by Police Officer must be covered by
tape/bandages (supplied by student) before arriving to
school.
Dress Code violations may result in the following:
1. First/Second offense: parent call - student will wait in ISS until dress code compliance is met. Returns to class once in dress
code and can still earn full day.
2. Third offense: parent call AND student assigned partial day ISS. Returns to class after 1:30m once in dress code. Can still
earn full day.
3. Fourth/Fifth offense: parent call AND student assigned (1, 2, or 3) full day(s) of ISS. Will not earn day.
4. After sixth offense: Conference with administrator and additional consequences including written assignments, added days to
SSC, after-school community service hours, or other appropriate consequences assigned by administrator.
DEPARTURE PROCEDURES
School ends at 4:00 pm.
Exit for ALL students for buses, walk homes and parent pick-ups will be the West Gate located next to Boat Net/Covered basketball
court. This exit opens at 3:50pm and closes promptly at 4:15pm.
1. Bus - loading of busses begins at approximately 3:50pm. Busses depart at approximately 4:05pm.
2. Walk - students will be released at 4:05pm and depart through West Gate.
3. Pick-up - students may picked up at the West Gate after 4:05 pm.
Per district transportation policy, students may not change mode or route of transportation without PRIOR written parental/guardian
consent through the registrar.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
Attendance:
State law requires that students who have not yet reached their 18th birthday shall attend school for the entire period the program is in
session. District Policy recognizes the following as EXCUSED Absences: doctor’s excuse, a note from a Probation Officer, a Judge,
or a CCISD school nurse. Parental notes will only be accepted 3 times; unless situation is approved by administrator and/or
Truancy Officer. Absences (excused or unexcused) will result in an extension of days at SSC.
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing any legal documentation concerning custody issues. In accordance to district
policy, all visitors, volunteers, and parents picking up students during the day will be required to present one of the following
forms of identification for scanning into the Raptor system.


Breakfast/Lunch:
Breakfast/Lunch items may be purchased from the cafeteria. Parent/Guardians must apply for free/reduced lunch each school year.
Applications may be submitted online at www.schoollunchapp.com. Breakfast: Full Price $1.00 Reduced $0.30. Lunch: Full Price
$1.50 Reduced $0.30. Please note that students may charge a max of $4.50 to their lunch account. After $4.50 in charges have
accrued, student will not be served meal (Food Services/District Policy). Parents my add funds to student accounts online at
www.mylunchmoney.com. For more information: CCISD Food Services (361) 844-0222, M- F 8 am to 4:30pm.
Medical:
District policy requires all medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, be kept locked and under supervision of the school
nurse. Parents must complete and sign a CCISD Medical Record Form at the time of enrollment and/or prior to administration of
any medication(s). Parents must bring all medications to the nurse’s office.
Students may not have in their possession any type of prescription or over the counter medicine while on the school bus and/or at
school. Examples: vitamins, supplements, inhalers, cough syrup, aspirin, cough drops, throat spray, eye drops, ear drops, lotions,
topical creams, gels, tattoo care cream/gel, lip balm, chap stick.
Trespassing Notice:
Students assigned to SSC may not participate or attend any CCISD functions (on or off campus) including sporting events, dances,
concerts, etc. even if accompanied by parents. SSC students are not allowed on ANY CCISD property before, during, or after school,
on weekends, or during holidays. Criminal trespass laws of the State of Texas will be enforced and student(s) may be arrested
and/or assigned additional days at SSC.
Violation(s) of the student contract:
Students that are unable to meet expectations outlined above, may be assigned consequences including: after-school community
service, Saturday school, In-School Suspension (ISS), out-of-school suspension (OSS), municipal court ticket(s), and/or arrest. Major
and/or repeated violations of the contract and/or CCISD’s Student Code of Conduct while enrolled at SSC may result in
recommendation for additional removal days or expulsion from the SSC to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Alternative
Educational Placement (JJAEP). Assignments to JJAEP range from 90 - 180 days.
