Dear Governance Fellowship Alumnus,
When a hospital becomes part of a larger health system, the system and regional board must agree
where governance responsibilities properly belong. To address this national trend in healthcare,
graduates of the MHA Excellence in Governance Fellowship are invited to attend an exclusive panel
discussion on the challenges of system and regional board integration.
The session features a panel of executives and board members from Munson Healthcare, Traverse City;
Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, Ann Arbor; Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital; and Spectrum
Health Pennock, Hastings, who will share their experiences with governance following integration. The
session will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12, immediately following the MHA Health
Foundation Governance Leadership Forum at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. This fellowship alumni
session includes a networking reception.
Visit the Governance Leadership Forum Web page to learn how you can register for the Excellence in
Governance Fellowship alumni education session. Hotel room reservations at the Grand Traverse Resort
& Spa should be made immediately to ensure availability and the discounted room rate. On the resort
website, enter code MHA1010 under “Book Now,” or call the resort at (800) 968-7352 and mention the
“MHA Leadership Forum.” For additional information, contact me at the MHA.
We hope to see you there!
