Northgate Gonzalez Markets Toy Giveaway Marks 16th Year:
Children to Receive an Estimated 47,000 Free Toys
Anaheim, CA—For the 16th consecutive year, the Gonzalez family and Northgate Gonzalez Markets will
give away, free of charge, a toy to any boy or girl who comes to a Northgate Gonzalez Market today
from 1 to 5 p.m.
Toys will be given on a first come, first served basis.
The toy giveaway has become a Northgate tradition, with customers and store employees joining
together in a festive celebration of the Christmas season.
Santa Claus will be on hand at each of the 36 Northgate stores in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego
Counties to hand out toys and have his photo taken with each child. His elves and assistants, recruited
from the ranks of Northgate employees, will lend a hand as well.
Northgate executives estimate that more than 47,000 toys will be given away. “This has become so
special for our customers,” said Oscar Gonzalez, president of Northgate Markets. “For some of these
children, the toy they receive at Northgate may be the only one under the Christmas tree.”
“Our customers make us successful,” Gonzalez continued. “This is a modest way for us to say thank you
to them for their loyalty, and to share the blessings our family has received.”
Northgate suppliers Coca Cola, Pepsico and 7Up are top supporters of the toy giveaway. “Many of our
suppliers have come together and helped make this event special. We thank them for their
partnership.” Gonzalez added.
