2014-15 BALL -PLC SCHOLARS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP The Ball Foundation’s mission is to “provide financial support to organizations that sustain the communities in which we live and operate by improving and promoting education, recycling and community engagement.” Each spring semester, Ball Foundation grants $20,000 toward the development of the Ball-PLC Scholars program in order to help students become community leaders that embody this mission. Ball Foundation awards this grant to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students in the Presidents Leadership Class as they work to become extraordinary leaders in the communities in which they attend the university, live, and work as contributing members of society. FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2014-15: - Four PLC student rising sophomores will receive $2,500 - Four incumbent Ball-PLC Scholars (rising juniors) will receive $2500 - Each award will be allocated over both semesters ($1,250/semester) - Each awardee will be considered a fully participating member of the Ball-PLC Scholars program BALL – PLC SCHOLARS ARE EXPECTED TO: - Fully participate and excel in PLC’s academic curriculum and experiential programming - Participate in all Ball-PLC Scholar events (one fall, one spring) - Commit to mentor a middle/high school student - Act as an ambassador for the Ball-PLC Scholars Program - Exemplify innovative, strategic and service-oriented leadership habits both on and off campus - Participate in an exit interview for Ball employees and PLC staff/Advisory Board members APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS: - You must be a rising sophomore in the Presidents Leadership Class (sophomore at the time of award allocation) - You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better - You must be fully enrolled at CU Boulder in any major on campus - Financial need will be considered in award allocation PLEASE COMPLETE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS.
