In Clinic, you are responsible for seeing new consults and general
orthopedic patients [you are not responsible for preoperative history and
physical or postoperative follow-up] (1st floor Subspecialty clinic)
Responsibilities:
Orthopedics Clinic typically sees 60 patients in clinic per day
Please be mindful that surgeons have a different mindset and they do not intend to
be gruff – it is simply a different environment.
**In return for the orthopedic clinic hosting us, we should be teaching them
something about medicine (medicine reconciliation, chronic disease conditions,
etc.)
You are invited to review Radiology imaging (plain films, MRI primarily) with the surgeons Mondays
and Thursday during the lunch hour in the 3rd floor conference room if you wish.
GYN:
Cannon Street (from our Bee street garage, walk past the President street garage, then

You will be responsible for seeing 4-6 new and/or return general GYN
patients each half-day session. Each patient much be checked out to the
attending. You will be working alongside GYN residents, but you will
have your own panel to see – it is imperative that you contact our IM Chief
Responsibilities:
Resident as soon as possible if you have an emergency which prevents you
from going to clinic on your appointed day.
The GYN clinic is hosting us – we expect you to be a flexible team player
during this rotation. Offer to help!

2. The tentative schedule for the clinic will be:
Med-Psych resident sees individual patients from 1-3:30.
IM resident see one patient (new or follow-up) at 1:30 with supervision
from Barth (preferably medicaid); billing sheet will be under Barth.
Barth will have individual/private patients at 2:00/2:30/3:00 (not to exceed 2 pts
during that window of time), this can be shadowed by IM resident; they can also
shadow MP resident or PhD psychologist depending on interest/number of
residents.
Pharm D assisting with clinic from 1-3:30.
3. We meet for group supervision/didactics from 3:30 - 4:30.
3:30-4:00: group supervision with all team members where we will discuss
patients and management (pharmacotherapy, psycotherapy)
4:00-4:30: didactics with rotating topics decided by group (based on clinical
cases), presented in turn by each member of the team.
