Departmental Service

Supervised and reviewed 22 tenured faculty, tenure-track faculty, and academic staff members with renewable
full-time contracts.

Worked with Director of Art and Design and Chair of Art and Art History Department to support all degree
programs to maintain strong ties with individual BFA majors and MFA degrees.

Worked to support new program directors, new program assistants and area faculty for all new programs.

Provided leadership and extend support for sponsored projects with Discovery Center.

Developed marketing promotion materials for MFA and sponsored projects for the School of Art and Design and
sponsored projects with the industry.

Coordinated a positive transition to the new School of Art and Design structure.

Served on eleven hiring committees for Graphic Design and Multimedia Departments and had the opportunity to
Chair five of these committees.

Served on the governance committee responsible for writing new bylaws for new Department of design.

Served on the Personnel committee responsible for reviewing 8 tenure- track faculty members for the
Department of Design.

Served on Master of Fine Arts in design program committee responsible for curriculum development.

Visited and initiated a dialog for a possible international exchange student program with National Institute of
Design, Ahmedabad, India.

Served on curriculum committee to revise and facilitate curriculum development, which was not updated in the
last twenty years.


Department of Art and Design as Health and Safety Officer. I was responsible for daily upkeep of Interior Design,
Industrial Design, Industrial Design, Art and Design Foundations, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Art Metals,
Ceramics, Sculpture and Print- making studio labs.
Area representative for facilitating Safety and Building committees.
Curriculum Development

Developed and submitted two certificate course proposals for the Department of Design.

As a member of art and design curriculum committee, facilitated the review/updating of three departmental
core foundation area classes.

As a member of graphic design faculty, helped re-write Graphic Design curriculum to update and restructure
courses and program configuration.

As a senior member of graphic design faculty, participated in and contributed to updating-restructuring of
Graphic Communication Management(GCM) curricula to coordinate with Graphic Design program.

As a member of graphic design faculty, contributed in restructuring of the Multimedia concentration and
assisted in converting it to Entertainment Design to bring focus to coordinate with Graphic Design program.

Abstract “Design, Fabrication, Innovation and Xtreme
Affordability” selected under the Poster Presentation category of the 2013 IDA Congress-Education and Research
Conference. Unfortunately, IDA Congress Istanbul has been cancelled for reasons of Force Majeure, 2013.

Globusliving.com, Responsible for naming, brand design and e-commerce website. Developed a custom ecommerce application for Globusliving.com to handle 358 fabrics and borders, showing the images with
backdrops. This software has custom designed admin-controlled backend, 2012-present.

3M, Target and Great Northern Corporation, Principal Investigator, interdepartmental collaborative project with
Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Package Engineering Departments. Redesigned 3M Scotch tape dispenser,
package design and in-store display graphics for Target stores, 2011.

NUPOP Movement, Los Angeles, CA, Principal Investigator, Designed 8 watches with a group of Graphic Design
and Industrial Design students for the Los Angles-based fashion accessory company. Award- $4,994 8-1-11
through 12-15-11.

KB Catering – Custom Catering & BBQ, Independence, WI, Principal Investigator, designed and developed
branding and package design graphics to advance an all-purpose seasoning mix to commercial production (mild
flavor used with soups, vegetables, pasta, meat marinade-rubs and as a Bloody Mary mix). Award-$2,380.00.
project completed from 5-11 through 6-30-11.

Corenzo, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Designed products that utilize high-strength core board and recycled paperboard
in order to maximize the application of existing products in current markets and to develop new future
innovative products. Award- $11,575, 3-20-12 through 5-20-12.

BTL Food Group, Eau Claire, WI, 8-30-12 through 1-31-2013, Award- $12,137.
Principal Investigator, Responsible for logo design, branding and packaging for the food condiment company to
advance product commercialization by developing a brand image and logo for the product line, and complete
sensory testing to gain specific customer feedback for improving its marketability.

CTL Foods, Colfax, WI, Principal Investigator. Designed brand image and developed marketing efforts for a line of
new innovative flavored food products toward commercialization for global and domestic sectors. Award$12,137, 8-1-12 through 1-31-2013.

Dhingana.com, Sunnyvale, California. Designed information architecture, user experience, determine necessary
graphical content and presented creative content for mobile application for iphone and Android platforms, 2008.

Innopark, Hyderabad, India. Responsible for naming, logo design, branding and website for the game design
company, 2008.

Dhingana.com, Sunnyvale, California. Redesigned information Architecture and online music experience for one
of the biggest Indian music portal. This platform has music from 5 languages and has 2 million subscribers from
India and Indian expatriates from across the world, 2008-2009.

Poster Offensive 5, Poster on Sustainability was selected to be part of a travelling exhibition. They received a
total of 500 submissions and selected the top 28 entries, 2011.

World Design Congress, ICOGRADA, Beijing, China 2009. Research paper published and distributed at the IEN
Conference to all congress delegates. My paper was identified among the top 11 papers that were submitted for
ICOGRADA Education Conference. They received a total of 180 submissions from 31
countries, 2010.

Invited for panel discussion on the future of Design education for UCDA Design Conference, Minneapolis. The
purpose of the UCDA Foundation is to support the University & College Designers Association in attaining its














goals for member education and charitable support. The association exists to promote excellence in Visual
Communications for education institutions, 2010.
Principal investigator of a multi- disciplinary industry sponsored project for the company “NuPOP Movement”. A
multidisciplinary team of three Graphic Design and three Industrial Design students successfully designed
watches for the company, 2010.
“Save the Elephants.org” Poster selected for the show Poster Offensive 4. Poster Offensive is an independent,
non-partisan poster show, which utilizes the politically potent medium of the poster to showcase contemporary
interpretations and critiques of political and social issues, 2010.
Jawaharlal Nehru Collage of Fine Arts, Hyderabad, India. Panel discussion with the design faculty about the
curriculum development and advances in the Design Studies in North America and possible student/faculty
exchange program 2010.
Kala Mandir College of Fine Arts, Pune, India. Presented my personal research findings and student work at this
institution. Discussed various topics ranging from issues in design education, possible research collaborations,
coop placements, and possible faculty exchange programs, 2010.
